Can I have both MSRP and Sales price in the product record? I would like to show both on an invoice.

When you're looking to include the Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price in the product and services, @tompgdt, that's currently unavailable within QuickBooks Online (QBO).

Nonetheless, if you want to have an option to add the MSRP on the invoices, You can follow these steps to add it to the old invoice layout. Here's how

  1. Go to +New, open Invoice.
  2. On the upper right corner, click the Gear icon.
  3. Under Custom fields, click + add custom field.
  4. Put the MSRP as the name, then check the all-sales form box.

Meanwhile, on the new invoice layout, here's how you add:

  1. Go to +New, open Invoice.
  2. On the upper right corner, click the Manage.
  3. Click the Customization dropdown.
  4. Select the Manage hyperlink.
  5. Click the Add field button, type MSRP as the name, and then check the all-sales form box.

Additionally, you can include the sales price in the product and service item. You can refer to this article for guidance on adding the sales price. Following step 1: Set up product and service items.

I'm also adding this article to help you if you need to create personalized and professional-looking sales forms: Customize invoices, estimates, and sales receipts.

If you have any other questions regarding customizing your invoices, please feel free to reach out. Have a great day.

So thank you for your response however I don't believe you understood my question.

I want to add a custom field to the product/service record called  MSRP.  This stands for Manufacturer Suggested Retail Price.  This would be additional to the Sales price/rate and the cost.  This way on the invoice form I can show the MSRP as well as the Sales price.  This is important due to contract requirements to show both.

Thank you for elaborating on your concern to clarify where you'd like to add the MSRP, tompgdt.

You're unable to add a custom field for MSRP in the products and services. We can share this innovative idea with our developers instead.

Please know that you can only add custom fields to sales forms like sales receipts, estimates, invoices, credit memos, refund receipts, along purchase orders. In this case, you may follow my colleague's suggestion to create a custom field and add it to your invoices for now.

I recognize the benefit of including MSRP with the sales price or rate and the cost to comply with your contract requirements. With this, you can request to add this feature for future updates within your QuickBooks account. Follow the instructions below:

  1. Go to the Gear icon.
  2. Under the Profile column, select Feedback.
  3. Share your suggestion, then click Next.

Additionally, visit our website or blog to track your requests and recent developments.
