Can I manually edit a price level list. QB desktop Pro 2021 version.

Welcome to the QuickBooks Community, gbmount. I'll be providing different steps to ensure you can manage and edit price levels.

Yes, you can manually edit a price level list if you're referring to all items associated with the specific price level. To do this, you'll have to make sure that the created level is in the Per Item Type so you can manually update the standard price to a custom one.

Here's how:

  1. Click the Lists menu and select Price Level List.
  2. Choose the specific price level and double-click it to expand the page.
  3. Go to the Custom Price column and enter the updated information.
  4. Click OK.

However, if you mean to manually edit the Fixed% price level, this is currently unavailable. This only lets you increase or decrease the prices of all items for a particular customer or job by a fixed percentage. You can open this article to view further details: Set up custom rates or prices for employees, vendors, or customers.

Lastly, you may refer to this article to see details on how you can remove and manage items in QBDT and various questions and answer on how it works: Add, edit, and delete items.

Stay in touch if you have any other questions about managing your price level. I'll be happy to help you out, gbmount. Wishing you and your business success.

Thank you for your suggestion.  It is exactly what I have been trying but without success.  I select per item price level list and double click the specific price level.  Clicking on the custom price column --or any other column--just highlights the row but I am not able to make any changes. This occurs in single user or multi user mode.  In previous years, I have been able to edit.

We also have some price levels that use a percentage.  I am able to edit these without problem.

I wonder if my copy of qb desktop pro 2021 is corrupted in some way?  Is there some way that I can download a new copy?

Thanks for getting back here in this thread, @gbmount. I'll help you ensure your QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) is up and working.

Here in QBDT, we have this feature where you can verify and rebuild your data to ensure your company file is working as it should. I'll gladly input the steps below so you can proceed, and then we can rule out the possibility of data integrity issues. To begin, here's how:

  1. Choose Window then Close All.
  2. Verify Data. Choose File then Utilities. Select Verify Data. If you see:
  • "QuickBooks detected no problems with your data," no further action is needed.
  • A specific error message, there may already be an article for it. Try searching for it in our QuickBooks Desktop support site for specific instructions.
  • "Your data has lost integrity," indicates there is data damage in the file. Continue to the steps below to Rebuild Data to correct the problem.

See this article for further steps about rebuilding data in QBDT: Verify and Rebuild Data in QuickBooks Desktop.

Additionally, here's an article about customizing a report to show specific data in your business: Customize reports in QuickBooks Desktop.

@gbmount, If there's anything else that you'd like me to assist you with, feel free to get back to me anytime. Know that our door is open 24/7, and it'll be my pleasure to help you again. Take care, and have a good one!

Can I manually edit a price level list. QB desktop Pro 2021 version.

Thank you for your suggestion.  I have used the verify data utility--twice--both times I got the message that quickbooks detected no problems with my data.  However, I am still unable to edit the per item price levels.  We also use percentage based price levels.  They are editable.

Is it possible that we can engage someone from the quickbooks support team to sign on to our quickbooks to solve this problem?

Thank you for coming back to provide more details about what you've done to fix the issue, @gbmount. I'll share other troubleshooting steps to ensure you can manually edit the price level list.

In QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT), we have the QuickBooks File Doctor that we can use to fix damaged company files.

To get started, download and install the QuickBooks Tool Hub. Let me show you how:

  1. Make sure to close your QuickBooks.
  2. Download the latest version of the QuickBooks Tool Hub (1.5.0.0) and save it where you can easily find it.
  3. Open the QuickBooksToolHub.exe link.
  4. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation process.
  5. Next, double-click the icon on your desktop to access the tool hub.
  6. From there, head to the Company File Issues menu on the left panel and click Quick Fix my File.
  7. Click the OK button once completed. Then, launch your QuickBooks.

To run the QuickBooks File Doctor. See these steps:

  1. Select the Company File Issues menu from the tool hub.
  2. Choose the Run QuickBooks File Doctor button.
  3. In QuickBooks File Doctor, choose your company file from the drop-down menu.
  4. Select Browse and Search to find your file.
  5. Press the Check your file option and then Continue.
  6. Enter your QuickBooks admin password and then click Next.

If the issue persists, you can check out this article for more troubleshooting steps: Fix company files and network issues with QuickBooks File Doctor.

And as for your other concern, you can contact our Customer Care Team. As they have the tools to pull up your account in a secure environment, conduct screen-sharing sessions to see what you're seeing, and more.

To reach them, here's how:

  1. Open QuickBooks.
  2. Go to the Help menu at the top.
  3. Select QuickBooks Desktop Help
  4. Type Contact Us in the search box. Then, click on Contact Us at the bottom.
  5. Select the way you wish to connect with support.

You can also check out this link for more information: Contact QuickBooks Desktop support. Ensure to review their support hours, so you'll know when agents are available.

Reach out to me again if you have follow-up questions or concerns about the process when using the file doctor. I'll be around for you. Have a great day ahead.
