Consider having an inventory management app with barcoding feature to do so.

Can I scan my inventory into my quick books to have a tight record of it

It looks like you're trying to scan your inventory into QuickBooks Online (QBO) for better record-keeping. QBO does allow you to use SKUs for inventory items, which can be linked to barcodes. However, QBO's native inventory management features are somewhat limited when it comes to handling physical quantities across multiple locations or using multiple barcodes per item.

Why QBO Might Not Fully Meet Your Needs:

  1. Inventory Locations: QBO lets you tag documents with Class or Location for financial reporting, but it doesn't track physical quantities of items across different locations.
  2. Barcodes: QBO supports a single SKU per item, but it can't handle multiple barcodes for the same item.
  3. Mobile Apps: QBO lacks a dedicated mobile app for inventory management, which means you can't manage inventory directly from a mobile device without additional software.

Steps to Solve This Issue with QBO:

  1. Use SKUs: Enter your barcode numbers as SKUs in QBO for each item.
  2. Tagging: Use Class or Location tags to categorize your inventory locations, but remember, this won't show you the quantities at each location.

To address the limitations in QBO, consider using Warehouse 15, a middleware solution that enhances your inventory management:

  • Multiple Barcodes: Warehouse 15 allows you to store and manage multiple barcodes per item.
  • Location Tracking: It tracks physical stock across different locations, showing you the actual quantities.
  • Mobile App: Use Android devices for scanning, receiving, transfers, and more. Front-line workers can operate without accessing sensitive financial information.

Warehouse 15 integrates seamlessly with QBO, providing accurate, real-time inventory data and making your operations more efficient.
