Can i switch to a quickbooks account to avoid 1% fee?

Hi, denise83.

I'm more than happy to show you how to change the payment options on a specific invoice in QuickBooks Online.

To answer your question, there isn't an option to remove or waive the fee regardless of the payment option. Although, you can ask for a rate review to see if you're qualified for the discount on fees.

In QuickBooks Online, there are two main account settings when changing your payments account:

  • Standard deposit: link a bank account for standard funding events (non-instant Deposit) by adding your bank routing and account number.

Instant Deposit: link a debit card for Instant Deposit funding events. If you have a QuickBooks Cash account, that account’s debit card is already linked.

You can follow these steps to update the Standard deposit account:

  1. Go to the Gear icon.
  2. Under Customer click Account and settings.
  3. Click the Payments tab on the left panel.
  4. In the Deposits section next to Standard Deposits, select Change bank.
  5. Click Add new bank account.
  6. Enter the routing number and account number of the bank account you want to change to.
  7. Once done, click Save.

For updating the Instant Deposit account:

  1. Go to the Gear icon.
  2. Under Customer click Account and settings.
  3. Click the Payments tab on the left panel.
  4. In the Deposits section select Change to edit your instant deposit info. Note: If you switch from your personal debit card to your QuickBooks Cash debit card, select the 0% fee option.
  5. When you're done, click Save and then Done.

Once done, QuickBooks will start depositing customer payments to the new account.

@denise83

If you are running a B2B company, you may utilize another processor to accept ACH payments for free.
