Can QB do recurring discounts for specific customers? We have customers that always get discount. It's time consuming to check the list each time & manually add discount

Hi, can QB do recurring discounts for specific customers? We have a large list of customers that always get a discount when ordering/purchasing product. It is time consuming to check the list each time and manually add the discount.

Hi there, @brittany-m-soren.

The option to create recurring discounts in QuickBooks Online (QBO) is unavailable. I suggest turning on the Discount feature to easily track discounts in your invoices.

Let's turn on the discount feature first.

  1. Go to the Gear icon.
  2. Under Your Company, select Account and settings.
  3. Click the Sales tab menu.
  4. In the Sales form content section, click the Pencil icon to edit it.
  5. Select the Discount checkbox to turn it on.
  6. Click Save and then Done.

Once done, apply a discount to your invoices using a percentage or specific amount. I'll guide you on how.

  1. Open the invoices or create an invoice.
  2. Go to the Discount section under Subtotal.
  3. Enter the discount and QBO will automatically adjust the amount of the invoice.
  4. Hit Save.

You can also check this link to know more about this feature: Add a Discount to an Invoice or Sales Receipt in QuickBooks Online.

I've added these articles for reference in recording invoice payments and printing customers list:

Let me know in the comment section below if you have any other concerns about adding a discount to your invoices. I'll get back to you as soon as possible. Have a wonderful day!

Thank you for your help. I understand and have turned on how to add a discount manually. I was just really hoping that QB would be able to automatically tie a discount to a customer.
