Can someone help?? QB is doubling the quantity for the expense line item, with the markup line item, and forcing a calculated rate on the customer invoice.

This is a recent issue. I've never had an issue in the past with customer invoices. Now, when I create an invoice with billable expenses, when the invoice renders for the customer, it doubles the quantity from the expense line item and markup line item, then it forces a (Incorrect) rate calculation on the invoice, based on the $$ amount of the expense/markup.

Likely another bug, one of many, with the new invoices. Has Intuit completely forgotten how to test their changes before they release them to, you know, make sure they work?

Thanks for the response. However, I’ve already spent a significant amount of time on the phone with customer support. The representative was not able to help and said it was an issue with the coding and the new invoice template.

They told me to reach out to do Software/program developers… I have no way of doing that.

Thanks for the response, however, I have already spent a significant amount of the time with customer support. They were not able to help. The representative didn’t know what the reason for the problem was, but said it was likely related to the new invoice template. he told me to reach out to the product/software developers, but I have no avenue or ability to do that.

Hello there. I'm here to assist you, and I'd like to gather a bit more detail to better understand the issue you're facing.

Upon checking here on my end, there's an ongoing investigation (INV-104963) about billable expense made to invoice adding to quantity after invoice is saved in QuickBooks Online (QBO). I understand that you already contacted our Customer Support, however, I still recommend contacting them again to be added to the affected users and be notified when the update is available.

Here's how:

  1. Sign in to your QuickBooks Online company.
  2. Select Help (?).
  3. Select either of these tabs:
  • Assistant tab and select Talk to a human.
  • Search tab and click on Contact Us to connect with a support expert.

Moreover, our product engineers are working on this to get it sorted out and resolved as soon as possible. Since they are working on this internally, please know that we cannot provide a turnaround time regarding their efforts.

Additionally, I'm adding this article as your reference for personalizing your sales forms in QBO: Customize invoices, estimates, and sales receipts in QuickBooks Online.

As you send your estimates, rest assured that I'm always here to lend a helping hand. Should you need assistance with any other areas, feel welcome to drop me a comment below.

Hi there, @er90.

The investigation my colleague provided about QuickBooks doubling the quantity for an expense line item has already been resolved. I understand how challenging it is especially when you're still encountering the same issue. I'll help you fix this issue by troubleshooting your browser.

Sometimes, our browser fills too much cache, which could cause malfunctions to some features or slow down a website. As of now, I can guide you in troubleshooting your browser to ensure it runs efficiently with QuickBooks. Let's start with accessing QuickBooks Online using incognito mode or a private window.

Here are the shortcut keys to go private mode in a browser:

For Google Chrome / Microsoft Edge / Opera:

  • Windows: Ctrl + Shift + N
  • Mac: Command ⌘ + Shift + N

For Firefox:

  • Windows: Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Mac: Command ⌘ + Shift + P

For Safari:

  • Shift + Command ⌘ + N

If this works, you can proceed to clear your browser's cache and cookies. Otherwise, you can also use other supported browsers to ensure it runs QBO efficiently.

If the problem persists, I recommend contacting our QuickBooks Online live support to have this case investigated again.

Please let us know if you have additional concerns besides creating an invoice with billable expenses in QBO. I'd be glad to assist you with anything.
