Can we, on Sales, Invoices, have the Balance display the customer account balance and NOT the invoice balance?

Thanks for your time checking this with the Community. I can share some insights about invoice balances in QuickBooks Online.

If you're referring to the Balance column in the All Sales and Invoices screen, it's default view only displays the individual balance per transaction. This way you're able to view and do multiple actions (Batch action) on each items created in QuickBooks.

If you'd like to view your customer balances, you can pull up a Customer Balance Detail report. Follow the steps below:

1. Click the Reports menu.
2. Locate and click Customer Balance Detail in the Who owes you section of the Reports screen.
3. Update the Report period and the Aging method.
4. Click Run Report.

However, if you're referring to the sales/invoice transactions to show the customer balance, you can do that by customizing your sales templates. Here's how:

1. Click the Gear icon.
2. Choose Custom Form Styles.
3. Click Edit on the template you're using.
4. Select the Content tab.
5. Click the middle section of the template on the right.
6. In the Account summary section, mark the Show on invoice box.
7. Click Done.

That should display the Balance forward amount or the running customer balance on your sales transactions.
