For now, we're unable to automatically charge small payments on a customer's credit card until an invoice is fully paid. You'll want to send a feature request about this directly from QBO. Here's how:
- Go to the Gear icon at the top, then select Feedback.
- Enter your comments or product suggestions.
- Click Next to submit your feature request or feedback.
Your input will be sent directly to our Product Development team to help improve your experience in QBO. You can also track feature requests here: QuickBooks Online Feature Requests.
In the meantime, you'll want to send a payment link to your customer so they can process smaller amounts on their credit card. Here's a video tutorial for more details: How to Use Payment Links in QuickBooks Online
