Join nowMy parent and sub-accounts used to show in a hierarchy format. Now it says it is a sub but we can;t see the numbers i.e., An accidental sort happened when I was trying to change a column size and now I can't get back.
1000 bank accounts
1001 checking
1002 savings
Thanks for providing the detailed scenarios of your concerns, @VFC Admin.
I'm here to ensure that the account number will show up again in your Chart of Accounts (COA) page in QuickBooks Online (QBO).
There are 3 possible reasons why you're unable to see the account numbers in the COA.
To review the feature, please follow the steps below.
Once confirmed and the issue persists, let's perform primary troubleshooting steps to isolate the difficulty. Stored cache files on your browser can sometimes cause this to occur.
To start, please access your account via incognito. These browsers won't save any browsing histories.
Feel free to use these shortcut keys:
Once logged in, go back to the COA and double-check the account number. If it's visible, we'll have to go back to your regular browser and clear the cache to eliminate the junk files. Using other supported browsers is a good alternative too.
I've also added articles about maintaining your accounts, know about usage limits, and other topics.
Let me know in the comment section if you're able to see the numbers. I want to make sure this will resolve as soon as possible. Keep safe!
The numbers show up - I want to see them in their hierarchy. i.e. 1000 Bank account
1010 checking account
1020 savings
I've reviewed your earlier post and here's what I can share to you, VFC Admin.
Yes, the hierarchy of the accounts depend on how you sort the list. Sorting your Chart of Accounts by QUICKBOOKS BALANCE, BANK BALANCE, or CURRENCY will remove the hierarchy or the indention of the sub-accounts.
To bring back the hierarchy or the indention of the sub-accounts, we can just need to sort the list by any of the following:
You can click those column headers to change how the accounts are sorted out. After that, it should automatically change how the accounts are displayed.
Feel free to click those column headers again if you want to get to the correct hierarchy.
We got your back if you have additional queries in managing the accounts. Have a great day!
