Join nowI ran a balance sheet detail report, one of the column is the class of each transactions. On the report, I'm seeing the wrong class for the transaction, then I double clicked on it to go into the actual credit card charge, however, the class is the correct class. For example, I'm seeing "Mfg" on the report, which is not correct, so I clicked into the credit card charges and it's showing the correct class of "G&A".
When I ran the P&L By Class report, the transaction is classified to the correct account, but I don't know why on the balance sheet detail, it shows a different class.
As shown in the screenshot attached.
The class shown on the report and the class in the actual transaction matches before, This happened recently, anyone know how to solve this? Is this some kind of technical issues?
Thank you
Hello there, @OpsNir. Let's perform some troubleshooting steps so the class shown on your Balance Sheet Detail report matches with the actual transaction in QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT).
Based on your description of the issue, it seems that you have a minor data issue with your company file. With this, I'd recommend utilizing the Rebuild Data tool. It's a built-in tool that can help automatically fix data issues with your company file. To do this, here's how:
Once you're done, you run a Balance Sheet Detail report from the Reports menu.. In case the issue persists, continue performing the recommended solutions in this article, starting with Solution 2: Fix data damage on your QuickBooks Desktop company file.
Also, you may want to check out this article as your reference in case you need a guide as to how QBDT generates reports: Understand reports. It also includes the list of available reports in the system.
You can keep me posted on how it goes in the comments below. If you have other classes and reporting concerns or questions about managing transactions in QBDT, I'll gladly help. Take care always, @OpsNir.
@Rea_M Thank you for the response.
I have tried both solutions but the issue persists. Do you have other solutions that might be able to fix to issue?
Thanks for getting back with the Community, OpsNir. I appreciate you performing Rea_M's recommended troubleshooting steps.
If you haven't yet, I'd recommend troubleshooting this situation with the QuickBooks Tool Hub utility.
Here's how:
In the event it continues showing an invalid class while viewing the transaction on your Balance Sheet, you'll want to get in touch with our Customer Care team. They'll be able to pull up the account in a secure environment, conduct further research, and create an investigation ticket if necessary.
They can be reached while using QuickBooks:
Be sure to review their support hours so you'll know when agents are available.
I'll be here to help if there's any additional questions. Have a wonderful day!
