Closed Sales Orders Showing up as Open

I still am having issues with Closed Sales Orders showing up as Open when I am preparing Invoices.  I have attached some screen shots to show what is happening.  The weird thing is, as you will see, Quickbooks tells me that all items on the Sales Order have already been closed but it shows up as an option when I am preparing an Invoice.

Closed Sales Orders Showing up as Open

Thank you for your advice.   Prior to receiving it I tried just Marking the Sales Order as Open and then Marking it as Closed.  That seemed to have done the trick.  It was just a guess on my part but maybe something someone else can use in the future.

Closed Sales Orders Showing up as Open

I can help you sort this out, buzygal.

This unexpected behavior might have been caused by data damage. Closed Sales Orders should no longer show up when creating invoices.

I have some few steps to recommend to that can verify if that's the case and resolve this as well. Here's how:

  1. Make sure that your QuickBooks is updated to its latest maintenance release. You can download the update from here: Update QuickBooks Desktop to the latest release.
  2. Run the Verify and Rebuild Tool that can resolve common data issues in QuickBooks. Check out the steps here: Verify and Rebuild Data in QuickBooks Desktop.

Once done, create a sample invoice to check if the closed Sales Order are no longer showing up.

You can also use the QuickBooks File Doctor to fix your company file just in case you can still see them.

Keep us posted or please reply to this thread if you still have the same result. We'll look for other options that can get this resolved.
