Credit Card Transactions

Several months ago, I know I imported my credit card transactions into QB.  I recall doiong so because I imported the transactions, but still had to go into the credit card register and enter the memo (description of the credit card purchase).

It's been several months and now I cannot for the life of me find the transaction log in QB or how I created the file to import.

Any suggestions?  I have over 400 transactions!!

Credit Card Transactions

I'll give steps to help you find the transactions, FMW.

If the transactions imported are not yet added to the register, you can find them and add the memo by following these steps:

  1. Go to Banking > Bank Feeds > Bank Feeds Center.
  2. In the BANK ACCOUNTS section, select the credit card account under CREDIT CARD.
  3. Click the Transaction List button to view the transactions.
  4. Select the From and To date, and put a check mark on the transaction you want to add.
  5. Under the ACTION column, select Add More Details from the drop-down.
  6. In the Add More Details window, you can add the Memo.
  7. Hit Add to QuickBooks.

I've a sample screenshots below for a visual guide:

Otherwise, open the account in the Chart of Accounts to edit the transaction.

Here's how:

  1. Go to Lists > Chart of Accounts.
  2. Type the credit card name on the search field and click Search.
  3. Double-click the credit card account and find the transactions.
  4. Double-click the Date of the transaction you want to edit. This will open the transaction, so you can add a Memo.
  5. Click Save and Close.
