Custom Fields

Using QBO Essential version.... Added two custom fields....  Custom fields are not showing on my estimate form.

 

Tried opening browser in private mode and still could not see the custom fields.

 

Any help would be appreciated.

Hello, bugsbegone.

 

Thanks for sharing the steps you've done so far to show the custom fields on the estimate. I can provide you with some information and help you in resolving the issue.

 

Due to a recent update under the new invoicing experience, the custom field feature is now available in QuickBooks Online Plus and Advanced subscriptions.  With the new estimates and invoices, some functionalities aren't available with the Essentials subscription. 

 

You can switch to the old version so you can use the custom field again. I'll show you how.

 

  1. Click the + New icon.
  2. Select Estimate.
  3. At the upper right side of the page, hit Old Layout.
  4. This should bring you to the old version wherein you can see the custom field you've created.

Using the old layout format, can I still add our company logo and send estimates via email?

Let me share additional information about estimates, bugsbegone.

 

Yes, you'll still be able to add your company logo to your estimates and email them to your customers. You can upload up to 10 logos for different sales forms so you to represent your business brand. Here's how:

 

  1. Click the Gear icon.
  2. Under Your Company, select Custom Form Styles.
  3. From the New style drop-down, select Estimate.
  4. If you want to upload a logo on an existing template, find the template then select Edit under the Action column.
  5. Go to the Design tab, then choose Add your unique logo.
  6. Select the box with Add a logo +, then the Plus icon on the next window.
  7. Locate and select the image you want to use.
  8. Select Open. Once uploading is done, select Save, then Done.
