Custom report (base on Chart of Accounts) does not honor date

I attempted to create a flash report of a few of my accounts from the chart of accounts. Regardless of whatever date setting I use, it always includes future dated transactions.

So I run my report for "Today" but it gives me everything future dated transaction through the rest of time. Does the same thing if you use custom dates or any of the other preset dates.

Custom report (base on Chart of Accounts) does not honor date

Hi there, @wshankga

I understand how important it is to review the dates of the transactions made to a specific account in QuickBooks Online (QBO).

When we run a report in the Chart of accounts, we can view the dates depending on what report period we selected. Since you have encountered an issue when running a report in the chart of accounts, we have to perform some basic troubleshooting steps to identify if this is a browser issue.

Sometimes the browser's cache and cookies become corrupted, leading to problems in accessing websites. To get started, we have to open your QBO account on an incognito window. Incognito window will prevent the browser history from being saved.

Please refer to the following keyboard shortcuts based on your browser type:

  • Google Chrome: Ctrl + Shift + N
  • Mozilla Firefox: Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Microsoft Edge: Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Safari: Command + Shift + N

If the private browsing session works, you'll need to clear the browser's cache so the system can restart. This task is also possible in other supported, up-to-date browsers. Clearing the cache will reboot the system, allowing you to work with clean slate.

Alternatively, we can also run reports to review the transactions made in chart of accounts within a specific time period.

Here's how:

1. On the left Navigation Panel, select Reports

2. In the Find report by name tab search for the Transaction List report.

3. From the This month to date section, click the dropdown arrow.

4. Select your preferred time period.

5. Then, a Report will display on your screen.

The report will now show transactions made in a specific account with dates. There we can review the transactions made to different accounts.

For more information, you can also read this article: Customize reports in QuickBooks Online.

For future reference in exporting your reports, you can scan this article: Export your reports to Excel from QuickBooks Online.

I will wait for your response. Stay safe always!

Custom report (base on Chart of Accounts) does not honor date

After spending a lot of time with a Quickbooks support person in my system watching the process, it was determined that this appears to be a bug in Quickbooks.
