Thanks for taking the time to post your concern here in the Community, rick-rivetingdes.

Customizing invoice templates in QuickBooks Self-Employed (QBSE) is achievable using a third-party application. You can always add the invoice logo on the work info page. Here's how:

Web

  1. From the left menu, select Invoices.
  2. Select Create Invoice or Edit an existing one.
  3. At the bottom, select Edit work info.
  4. Upload the file, then Save.

App

  1. From the main menu, select Settings.
  2. Click Your work info, then Edit your logo.
  3. Select Pick a file (alternatively, you can delete the existing logo).
  4. Upload the file and then click on Save.

To learn more, please see this article: Create Invoices in QBSE.

Additionally, I encourage visiting our QBSE Overview for reference. This way, you'll learn more about how this program tracks everything throughout the year.

I suggest getting back to this thread if you'll need assistance in managing your sales transactions. I’m always here to help. Enjoy your day!

Thanks @CharleneMae_F  for the reply.

Yes I have customized my invoice and it is absolutely terrible looking and I would never send to a customer. So as of now so I can track invoice by creating a new one simply for QBSE and then fill out my very professional looking one my customers have become accustomed to receiving. I then manually marked paid when appropriate to do so. Only reason I use this version is for the quarterly tax estimates and payments I can easily do.

This version is very lacking in functionality and customization...Not that this is the thread to vent so I digress.

Thanks again.

@CharleneMae_F  thank you for the reply. NO third party apps only import data they do not allow for customization as I need.I need the invoice to look EXACTLY like my Excel invoice. This is not achievable and I will not use invoicing in QBSE for this reason. A nice feature to be added here would be creating an invoice in QBSE and link to Excel invoice (or other external invoice). For now I will just send as I have always done and create a "fake" one in QBSE and never send and marked paid when appropriate to do so.
