Hi All,
I am new QB, I tried to export data from QB using Microsoft Data Export Tool.
We did not assign account numbers in CoA, While exporting it throws an error, "An account Number cannot be empty".
Any ideas?
Thanks in Advance
Regards
Revanth
Solved! Go to Solution.
It looks like the Microsoft Data Export Tool is a third-party service, Revanth.
With regards to your concern, I'd suggest reaching out to Microsoft support. They can help you with the error.
In the meantime, I'll add the article on how to import and export data in QuickBooks Desktop an as a future reference.

Thank you for your response!!
I am curious to know, Is it possible to add an account number now? and this company has a lot of transactions.
Thanks for coming back, @Revanth.
I'll share some information about the error prompt. While it is a good idea to add the account number, I still recommend getting in touch with Microsoft Support. They're the best resource that can assist you with this.
For more information about exporting data and its limitation, check out this link.
Let me know if you still have questions or concerns. I'm more than willing to assist you further. Have an awesome rest of the week.
Afaik, we are only able to export/import Account List (i.e COA). There is no account number field in any template to export transaction data. Do you need to migrate QB Desktop file to other system?
@Fiat Lux - ASIA thanks for your response!!
Yes, I need to Migrate a data from Quickbooks Desktop to Microsoft Dynamics Business Central (BC).
Microsoft BC provides the extracter tool to export the data from Quickbooks Desktop.
The Final Solution of this tool is to export the master data in a Single .zip file. We just need to import this file to Microsoft BC system.
You may explore the following the exporter tool if required

Unfortunately we are only able to migrate data from MS Dynamics to QB
