END OF DAY REPORT

We are looking for a report , within a date range, to show invoice number, customer name, invoice total, and payment method used.

Hey there, @Brita2. You can run the Customer Balance Detail report to show the invoices, customer names, totals, and payment methods used within a date range. I can guide you through the process.

 

You can follow these steps:

 

  1. Open QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT).
  2. Go to the Reports menu and choose Customers & Receivables.
  3. Select the Customer Balance Detail report.
  4. Click the Customize Report button located at the top of the report window.
  5. Under the REPORT DATE RANGE section, select a date range from the Dates dropdown menu. You can also add a custom date in the From and To fields.
  6. Enter Pay Meth in the Search Columns field, then tick the box to display the payment method in the report.
  7. Once you're done, click OK.

END OF DAY REPORT

This report is only showing the balance due from each customer.  I need to see sales/invoices for a certain date range that shows how the invoice was paid.

I've got the report you need, @Brita2.  Let me walk you through how to get a list of your invoices within a specific date range with all the necessary details, such as their number, totals, customer name, and payment method used. 

 

Let's pull up the Transaction List by Customer report to get the list of invoices and customize it to show all the information you want to see. 

 

Here's how you can do it:

 

  1. Go to the Reports menu, then select Customers & Receivables
  2. Pick the Transaction List by Customer.
  3. Click the Customize Report and then hover to the Filters section.
  4. In the Choose Filter section, type in Transaction Type.
  5. Choose Multiple Transaction Types in the Transaction Type section. 
  6. In the Select Transaction Types, tick the Invoice and Payment.
  7. Once done, hit OK.

 



After that, let's customize the report to include a column for the invoice date, number, total amount, amount paid, payment method, and paid through.

 

  1. On the Transaction List by Customer page, click the Customize Report.
  2. Hover over the Display section and select your preferred date range. 
  3. In the Columns section, input and tick one by one the Paid ThroughPaid,Pay MethOpen BalanceAmountPaid Date, and  Amount Paid
  4. Once done, hit OK

 




Moreover, you can memorize the reports you've customized. This way, you won't have to do the customization process again.
