Estimated tax payments in Profit/ Loss report

I use QBSE. In the Profit/ Loss report there is an entry for "Taxes and licences". It shows far less $ then i think it should. When i click on the dollar amount in the report it shows several estimated tax payments for state and federal. However the total dollar amount is not reflected on the report. For example the report shows $100 in "Taxes and licences" but when clicking on the dollar amount it shows $800 worth of transactions tagged as "business" "state tax" or "estimated tax".

Estimated tax payments in Profit/ Loss report

Hello there, @jp933,

The total Taxes and Licenses amount on the Profit and Loss report only displays the accumulated amount for Business Licenses and Property Tax categories.

However, the figures shown in the Transactions window right after clicking the dollar amount is composed of the following calculations:

  • Business licenses
  • Property tax
  • Estimated taxes
  • Federal tax
  • Sales tax
  • State tax
  • Other taxes

You might want to review these transactions and see if it coincides to the actual expense balance.

To know more about the categories under Taxes and Licenses, refer to this article: Schedule C: Taxes and licenses.
