Etsy sales showing as an expense

I just discovered that in the last week of December and going forward, my Etsy sales are showing as expenses. I had to go in and change each one to income. Is there a glitch?? This will not be at all convenient going forward.

Etsy sales showing as an expense

I can see the inconvenience in recategorizing your Etsy sales transactions when downloaded in QuickBooks Self-Employed (QBSE), @sewdazzlingdesig. That's why I'm here to guide you on the next steps you need to help take care of this matter.

Based on your description of the issue above, I can tell that you've created rules to speed up your reviews in QBSE. When you haven't updated your rules and still show your Etsy sales as expenses, I'd recommend contacting our Customer Care team. They can securely pull up your account, further investigate the cause of this matter, and guide you with a fix. Here's how:

  1. Go to the Assistant menu.
  2. Type in Talk to a human in the Type something... field (twice).
  3. Select the I still need a human option.
  4. Choose either Message an agent or Get a callback

Also, I'm adding this article to further guide you in managing your transactions and business growth using QBSE: QuickBooks Help Articles. It also includes the Resources section where you can Find an expert and visit the Resource center and QuickBooks blog page.

If you have other concerns about categorizing your Etsy sales transactions in QBSE, please feel free to drop a comment below. I'm always around to help. Take care, and I wish you continued success, @sewdazzlingdesig.

Etsy sales showing as an expense

Yep! It's a glitch that both Etsy and Quickbooks are aware of. I've spoken with several QB and Etsy customer service people and they're aware of the issue but obviously dragging their behinds to come up with a fix. The sales being imported incorrectly as other fees and categorized as processing/transaction fees. It's been 13 days since this error and NO solution yet. I've been having to manually match the purchase prices with my orders, enter the order # and re-categorize as income for ALL sales.

It's ridiculous paying for a program that literally isn't doing what we're paying for it to do.
