The General Ledger report is empty (yes I clicked "Enable editing" after opening the excel file).
The P&L and Balance sheet are exporting correctly. I've confirmed that there is data in this date range for this company. There is information on the General Ledger Report when I run it normally from the reports section in Quickbooks. I've tested this with 3 other company files and the same result.
This is a huge bug, please fix it immediately. I use the export feature to save a snapshot of the books each time I close the books and file a tax return. I've already done about 50 of these this tax season and now I have to go back and manually re-export the Gen Ledger for all of them.
I rely on this feature to work, and I use it frequently in case numbers in a closed year have changed, in case the client is audited, or if the company closes. I only caught this because I needed to export a backup of a company that has closed and has 18 years of data. The export feature worked way too quickly for this much data and sure enough, it's because the General Ledger was empty.

When will Intuit fix this known bug?
We're unable to provide an estimated time of when this issue will fixed, acw100. I recognize how important exporting a copy of your last year's general ledger is to keep a backup document of your data. Let me share the steps you can take with your colleagues to contact our live representatives.
Before proceeding, open the report in Excel to select Enable Editing to view its full content, as the missing data means the file's in protected view. Please also ensure you have updated Excel to 64-bit versions of Windows for more processing power and memory. Additionally, consider exporting smaller date ranges since the statement may crash due to data overload from last year.
However, if the problem continues, I recommend contacting our live experts. They're equipped with the necessary tools to pull up your account securely and check this matter further. Rest assured that our specialists are willing to figure out why the general ledger is empty when exporting last year's transactions.
