General Ledger- Filter Accounts

Hi,

when I filter for specific accounts within  the General Ledger Report the generated report will EXCLUDE payments received (transfers) from other accounts within quickbooks. The General Ledger balance for this account does not agree to balance sheet

For example I have 2 bank accounts , Bank 1 and Bank 2. If bank 2 sends money to bank 1, that specific transaction won’t be reflected in the General Ledger  report when I filter for Bank 1

I'm here to help you sort this out, yd12f.

For you to see the entries, I'd recommend customizing the General Ledger report. Make sure the transactions are under the correct date range and you choose the specific account instead of the general filters to avoid any issues. We also have to consider the dates. It has a big impact since it filters the data that will reflect on the reports.

You can check out this article to learn how to personalize the report:  Customize a General Ledger Report.

Additionally, I've included these articles that'll help you fix some common report issues in QuickBooks:

Feel free to comment down below if you have any other concerns or questions about viewing your transactions on a specific report. I'm always glad to help in any way I can.

General Ledger- Filter Accounts

No, that is not what I am saying.

When I go to the GL report and I run the GL with no specific accounts, when I look at one of my accounts all the transactions are there. But when I filter in the GL report bec I want to only include that specific account entries (incoming transfers from other Balance Sheet accounts) are dropped.

Thanks for sharing additional details about the Filter on General Ledger report, yd12f.

Let's figure this out together.

The transactions will show up so long as it's associated to the account you selected on the Account field. You'll want to drill down all transactions and make sure appropriate accounts are selected to ensure it shows up on the report.

If the same results, I suggest reaching out to our customer care support to have this better checked. They have more tools, like screen sharing, that can help you resolve your concern.

Here's how:

  1. Go to this link: https://help.quickbooks.intuit.com/en_US/contact.
  2. Select QuickBooks Online.
  3. Click on Search for something else and enter your concerns in the Tell us more about your questions.
  4. Tap Search.
  5. Click on Start a message.

Please let me know how it goes. I want to make sure everything is taken care of for you.
