We have already submitted a ticket about this issue. Our engineers are all hands on deck working together for a fix to sort everything out. At this point, you may need to use the standard template.

Dear Fellow Users, I am not sure if this question has been answered elsewhere but I managed to resolve it but not mixing scalar and table fields in the same table.
For example, I had <TaxRate> in the same table as <Amount> and <Tax>. Once removed, the template worked fine.
See 'Scalar and table fields' in the following help page: https://quickbooks.intuit.com/community/Income-and-expenses/Import-custom-form-styles-for-invoices-o...
Please do let me know if this helps.

It is November 2020, I am getting this message .
How long does it take to fix this issue????
I can see that this must be a challenging experience for you, @kareng928.
I’ve check here on my end and found out that the issue related to your concern is already tag as resolved. Since you're still experiencing this issue, we can perform some troubleshooting steps to isolate this.
I recommend accessing your QuickBooks Online (QBO) on a private window (incognito) and import your custom form style from there. This way, we can also check if this is a browser cache issue.
Stored cache for a while causes unusual behavior to the browser that can affect the performance of your account. To start, you can follow these keyboard shortcuts in opening a private window:
If you’re able to import your custom form styles using a private window, then we'll need to clear your regular browser’s cache. This deletes all the stored data and makes your browser to function efficiently. If the issue persists, I recommend using other browsers to see and check if this is a browser integrated issue.
I’m also adding this article that provides detailed steps on how to import your custom form styles seamlessly.
Leave a reply in this thread if there’s anything else I can help you with regards to your QBO account. I’m just a post away from you. Take care and keep safe.
Its April 2021 and I am still getting this error.
I have tried the solutions listed above neither worked.
Hi @hannah101,
Let's get your custom form style import going without any errors.
It's best to follow the steps in this article for this process: Import custom form styles for invoices or estimates. An important thing to take note of is to never mix scalar and table fields into a single table. This causes an issue with your file during the upload process.
If you already went through these steps, then I suggest you contact our Technical Support team for further assistance. They can investigate why you have this issue, and provide a resolution for it.
See this article for the steps: QuickBooks Online Support. Please take note of their hours of operation, so you know when they're available.
Post a reply if you have other questions about custom form styles in QuickBooks Online, and I'll handle it for you.
Hello Ryan,
As a matter of fact I have already contacted your technical support team twice today.
Both times nothing was resolved and I got disconnected from the call both times.
Is there a way I can email someone my template so that they can advise me on how to make it so that QuickBooks will read it?
Unfortunately, my team and I are unimpressed.
This isn't the service that we want you to experience, @hannah101.
I understand the impact of any delay in resolving your custom template concerns.
Since the Community is a public forum, the best way to fix your issue is by contacting our support team again.
They have advanced tools where you can have screen sharing. This way, they can look at your account further and provide some advice on how to seamlessly import your invoice template.
