Has anyone had bad experiences with QB not paying taxes on time?

It is absurd that you would run a payroll service and have any possibility of taxes not being paid on time. I'm curious to know how many other companies have had this experience and how was it resolved?

I know how precious time is for everyone, and recognize the importance of paying taxes on time, briansmi.

It's our priority to ensure your taxes are filed on time. To start, I'd suggest checking the payroll service you're using. This helps us provide accurate steps to resolve this. Here's how:

  1. Go to the Gear icon and then select Account and Settings.
  2. Choose Billing Subscription, then Payroll.
  3. On the Plan details section, you'll view the payroll plan you’re using.

If you see Core, Premium, Elite, or Full Service, I'd recommend checking if the Automated tax payment and form filing feature is turned off. This could be the reason why the taxes aren't filed on time.

  1. From the Gear icon, select Payroll Settings.
  2. In the Taxes and forms section, select Edit.
  3. Place a checkmark in the Automate taxes and forms box.
  4. Once done, select Save.

In case it's turned on, I encourage contacting our Payroll Support Team to help you with the filing. They're also equipped with tools to determine the main cause of this.

If you're using Enhanced, I'd suggest verifying the tax deposit schedule.

  1. From the Gear icon, select Payroll Settings.
  2. View the federal or state tax deposit schedule.
  3. If you'd like to update it, click Change or add new schedule.
  4. Select the new filing and deposit schedule. Then, select an effective date.
  5. Select OK then Done.

Also, I'd recommend running the Payroll Tax Payment report. This helps us view the taxes that are already paid.

  1. Go to the Reports menu.
  2. Scroll down to the Payroll section.
  3. Open the Payroll Tax Payment.
  4. You customize the date.

Additionally, you can also run other payroll-related reports. This helps you view useful information about your business and employees.

You can always drop your comments below if you have other questions about year-end tax preparations, briansmi. We're always here to help you.

Has anyone had bad experiences with QB not paying taxes on time?

I understand all that. Why I wasn't told any of that in the beginning when your sales rep set up my account and was questioned by me in email as to why my tax payment didn't come out right after my mid January payroll I got nothing. I called your customer service and nothing. I called customer when I got an email from QB tax saying the IRS said my tax payments weren't being made often enough. Since you make the payments, shouldn't you have fixed that? I called your customer service and they said they would talk to your tax department. Again, nothing. No change no response and the fact I was set up for bi-monthly payrolls and monthly tax payments didn't send up a red flag to anyone. Between March and June I continued to forward emails from your tax department back to them asking what to do or why YOU weren't making my payments on time. I called your customer service last week and asked to speak to someone in your tax department, I was told they would call me in 24 - 48 hours. Again nothing.

I go back to my original question, how can you guys possible call yourself a payroll service and do anything but pay taxes on time? This is absurd and an incredibly poorly written software program. I expect someone with some authority to call me and get this straightened out. I've accumulated over $1,800 in penalties because of this and I'm livid.

Did you get this figured out? I am dealing with the same issue! I have QB Elite and have been getting notices since July that QB hasn't paid/filed my quarterly statement with the sate. I have almost $2,000 in fines and now my tax rate was increased from 2.7% to 9.9% for the next 2 years. This will cost me over $60,000. I'm livid and about to take legal action. I've been on the phone with about 7 representatives and 3 mangers over the last 6 months and noting has been done.

Has anyone had bad experiences with QB not paying taxes on time?

I just attempted to post a response to you and conveniently QB said something happened and it didn't go through. Don't want to go through all that again. My issue got resolved by going to the original sales person that set up my account who in turn put me in contact with the, I believe it was called, Executive or Presidential Customer Service in Arizona. You can't talk to Intuit Tax Department, at least when I was having this issue. A really dumb policy on the part of Intuit. In the end they did the right thing and cost them around $6,000.

Has anyone had bad experiences with QB not paying taxes on time?

I sent State withholding thru quickbooks on 7/28/24 that was due 7/30. QB Tracking # 1080389814.

The state didnt get it until 8/8/24 and charged me a 10% late fee.

No communication. No email from quickbooks saying oops, sorry, or fy.

I can see how significant it is for you to send the state withholding accurately, Steven.

Most states require e-payments to be approved by 5 pm PT, two banking days before the payment date. However, some states require approval three or even five banking days in advance. With this, it is vital to check your state's specific requirements directly when planning your payments.

Since you processed the tax payment on the 28th of July, I'd recommend contacting our dedicated payroll support. Our support team has the necessary resources to conduct a thorough investigation into this matter.

Here's how:

  1. Sign in to your QuickBooks Online company.
  2. Go to the Help icon at the top right corner.
  3. Go to the search tab and select Contact Us.
  4. Enter a summary of your concern, then click Continue.
  5. Choose a way to connect with us. You can either select chat with us or have us call you.

Has anyone had bad experiences with QB not paying taxes on time?

I just got a notice from the state that QuickBooks did not pay our July, nor August tax withholdings. I have sent in the email to the tax notice one provided… And I was told I would heard back in 30 to 45 days.
Because they have all my documentation, there’s no way I can pay this myself.

it’s also incredibly frustrating that there is no contact number at all to speak with about this. I can chat, call, and get through to nobody… Our assisted payroll has been working wonderfully for just over three years now, and all of a sudden they’re not paying our withholding, nor are they being helpful.

I would, like to know if anybody has gotten this resolved who has had an issue similar?

Did this get resolved for you?

I’m having the same problem of not being able to get a hold of anybody who can do anything. The fact that they have tax department that you cannot get a hold of, nor ask questions is absolutely ridiculous.
