Has anyone successfully printed a "packing slip" once creating an invoice in the NEW invoice format for quickbooks online?

I'm here to help you print packing slips.

 In the new invoice format, there's a new way to print the packing slip. You can find it on the customer transaction lists. Here;'s how:

1. Go to Customers & leads and select Customers.
2. Select the customer's name to display a list of their transactions.
3. From the Transaction List tab, select the box next to each invoice or sales receipt for which you want to print a Packing Slip.
4. Select the Batch actions dropdown, then choose Print packing slip.
5. The print preview screen will open so you can select printing options, preview, and print.

Another way around this is to go back to the layout and select Print packing slip after creating an invoice. Keep in mind, once you click the Old Layout you can no longer move back to the new one. Refer to the screenshot below:

Thank you for your efforts Brian, but unfortunately when I follow those steps you provided, and click on "Print Packing Slip" it is still NOT a packing slip that pops up it is still an invoice. with the word INVOICE in big letters up top and all the pricing and notes that I include on the invoice. It is not a packing slip. 

I guess I'll just go back to the old format since the new one does not work for packing slips.

To further investigate this issue, I recommend contacting our support. They will be able to pull up your account in a safe environment and look for the root cause of why the Invoice is showing instead of the Print packing slip. Moreover, other users might also be experiencing this issue. Here's how to connect with our support:

1. Sign in to your QuickBooks Online company.
2. Select Help (?).
3. Select either tab to get started:

• Assistant: Get quick, personalized answers. Select a suggested option, or type a question or topic you need help with. If you decide you need further help, you can still Talk to a human.
• Search: Search the QuickBooks Online knowledge base directly, or select Contact Us and choose a way to connect with us:
  • Start a chat with a support expert.
  • Get a callback from the next available expert.

Be sure to review their support hours so you'll know when agents are available.

I do not understand how you can continue to increase your pricing when you remove functionality.

Seriously, how do you update your project and make it worse?

Clearly you have never ran a business, but I assure you we need to be able to print a packing slip.

Every business with inventory needs the ability to print a packing slip. I have been overwhelmingly frustrated with the lack of function and capability of Quickbooks Online compared to Quickbooks Desktop. I wish I would have never switched. The lack of understanding by Quickbooks of what is required to run a business is mind-boggling. And my business isn't even complicated. It's as basic as it gets. Inventory, customers, vendors. This lack of awareness as illustrated by the new invoice layout makes me even more motivated to look for an accounting system alternative to Quickbooks. 

Every business with inventory needs to print a packing slip. It's a basic business function. We're not asking for something complicated. My business is super basic like many others. Inventory, customers, vendors.  This new invoice layout and lack of functionality motivates me to look more seriously at an accounting system alternative.

I've been overwhelmingly frustrated with the lack of function of Quickbooks online compared to Quickbooks Desktop. I wish I would have never switched. Beware Quickbooks, this kind of frustration from us, your long-time customers, will be super motivating to other businesses to develop a rival system to replace you. Please, please employ people who run businesses and can tell you what we need before you throw up a "new" feature that sucks time out of our day to try to use. 

I am having the same issue. I can no longer print a packing slip and I really need this feature. Please, Please find a solution to this ASAP. You are making running my business more difficult that it has to be and this continues I will have no choice but to find another accounting software. Access to packing slips is a MUST have.

This doesn't work.  The option is greyed out.  I cannot print a packing slip from any screen.  It is essential for us to be able to do this.  I am no longer able to switch back to the old invoice format as of today.

Can you help me understand why you're recommending we contact  QuickBooks payroll support team when this is an invoicing issue?

I cannot get it back to the old layout for some reason.  So aggravating!!!

unable to print packing list after switching to the new invoice layout, help

When is this issue going to be fixed!!! We are unable to switch back to the old layout, and this is a HUGE issue!! This should have been fixed immediately! What are we supposed to do ?!!

No and it is so frustrating. We have just switched from Desktop to Online and find that the most basic business features are not available - packing slip, order confirmation, purchase order field, shipping fields. 

I was finally able to print the packing slips (from the "Customer" center) by using incognito mode. I was also having trouble simply logging into Quickbooks when not in incognito mode. I'm still very dissatisfied with the online version compared to our old desktop software. It lacks basic business functions.
