Help - Intuit Online Payroll won't allow me to save check numbers of payroll checks.

I've been using Intuit Online Payroll for nearly a decade.  Currently have four employees.  I successfully produce payroll checks, printing them on the Intuit supplied blank checks.  When the on-line window opens to allow me to enter the "check number" of the employees' paychecks, the "save check number" button does nothing anymore.  This started last week, and it is the same this week.  I can't save check numbers in the process of "doing payroll", nor can I go into the reports - paycheck report, and enter check numbers there.  Same thing happens, I can type in the check numbers, and when I click on "save check number", nothing happens.  it's just "dead".  I have already cleared cache and temp files in hopes that something would be cleared, but it hasn't cleared the problem yet.  HELP.   [email address removed]

Help - Intuit Online Payroll won't allow me to save check numbers of payroll checks.

I'm having the exact same problem.  This is a software glitch.  They must have done an update and the update caused this problem.  Intuit takes FOREVER to fix problems so don't expect to see this corrected anytime soon.  I saw a recommendation by an Intuit employee to go to Settings, General, and make sure you have the check number function checked.  Mine was checked (probably because it has worked up until recently and I haven't made a change to the settings) but still doesn't work.  Very frustrating.  Do you think they will give us a discount on the product since we are not getting what we paid for :).

Help - Intuit Online Payroll won't allow me to save check numbers of payroll checks.

Hi there, @FuelCafe.

Let's access your QuickBooks Online (QBO) account on a private or incognito window. This way, we can roll out the possibility of a cache related issue.

Stored cache for a period of time causes unusual behavior to your browser and can affect the performance of your QBO account. To start, you can use this keyboard shortcuts in opening a private window:

  • For Google Chrome: Ctrl + Shift + N
  • For Mozilla Firefox: Ctrl + Shift + P
  • For Safari: Command + Option + P

If you're able to save your payroll check number while in a private window, then, we'll need to clear your regular browser's cache. This will delete all the browsing data and make your browser to function efficiently.

However, if the issue persists, I recommend using other browsers to check if this a browser-related issue.

For future reference, I got your this article that can guide you through the steps on how to print W-2 forms in your QBO.

I'm always here to help you in case you have other concerns. Keep safe and take care!
