Hi, I started my account under the wrong name. I updated the name in company information, but when our customers credit cards are run, they show the old company name?

Changing your business information is quick and easy. You can follow the steps below to update the information. Here's how: 

1. Go to the Gear or Settings ⚙ icon, then select Account and settings.
2. Select the Company tab.
3. Click the pencil icon under the Company name section to edit the name.
   
   
4. Select Save and Done to finish.

The information updates the information on sales forms and invoices, or your internal information on file with Intuit.

Allow me to join in this conversation and help you further in updating account info in QuickBooks Online.

It's possible that the old company name your customers have seen is your old Doing Business As (DBA) name. This info is the name they see on their receipts. This is why your company name doesn't show in their credit card payments.

To change your business information, simply follow these steps:

1. Log in to your QuickBooks Payments account.
2. From the menu, select Account and click Account Profile.
3. Go to the Account Holder/Business Information section, then select Edit.
4. Change your business information as desired and click Submit.

I had similar issue.  Try this instead:

Click on gear (upper right)

1) Under Your Company: Accounts and settings

2) Payments

3) Under Merchant details > Manage Account

4) Goes into Quickbook Payments

5) Under Account-Self-Service >Edit Business Info, Deposit Bank Account

6) Under Account Holder/Bus Info, Edit and update your name.
