How can I correct the spelling of a vendor name

Left banner, Expenses, Vendors, select vendor. Look for pencil icon, that opens edit screen.

A quicker way is use the search box and start typing the name

Neither suggested method worked. Other ideas?

@john-pero provided the correct instructions for editing a vendor. Just to clarify, did you also edit the Display name as field? This will need to be updated to change the name that you see in QuickBooks Online. The following is a brief video to serve as an example:

How long should the correction/change take after making the edit? I've done it multiple times on the same vender and the change doesn't take have saving and closing.

Let's isolate why you're unable to edit your vendor's name. There are times that the unexpected issues can be resolved by performing some troubleshooting steps.

First, let's modify it on a private or incognito window. This helps the browser to load faster as it doesn't store any file history.

Second, if it works fine, you can go back to your regular browser and clear its cache. A piled cache can also be the reason of a browser issue.

Lastly, you can switch to a different browser like Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Internet Explorer, or Safari. There are instances that the site we're currently using has a page maintenance,
