Hi there, @Jeff-Realtor. I'll help you update the email address where QuickBooks can contact you.

 

To clarify, did you update the one you used to log in? Make sure to edit the company email also in your QuickBooks Online account. Follow these steps below:

 

  1. Click the Gear icon at the upper right corner. Then, choose Account and Settings.
  2. Select the Company tab and go to the Contact info section.
  3. Click the Edit icon and enter your company's email address in the Company email field. You can also change the customer-facing email.
  4. Click Save and then Done.

I have done all of the items you mentioned below previously and I still receive emails to an old e-mail address.

 

Even though I have updated the email to my new one and i use the new one to sign in to my QBO account, it still shows my old email address when I click on the colored bubble (who is signed in) at the top right of the screen next to the gear icon. That is why i am confused.

 

And additional help is appreciated.

I appreciate you for getting back to this thread and for performing the steps to update the email address associated with your QuickBooks Online (QBO) account. Since you're still receiving emails to your old account email address, I would recommend reaching out to our Support Team for further assistance. A live representative can look into your account securely and review or update the email so emails will be sent to your new email account.

 

To contact support:

 

  1. Sign in to your QBO account.
  2. Go to the Help menu.
  3. Select either tab to get started:
    • Assistant: Get quick, personalized answers. Select a suggested option, or type a question or topic you need help with. If you decide you need further help, you can still choose to Talk to a human.
    • Search: Search the QuickBooks Online knowledge base directly, or select Contact Us.
  4. Choose a way to connect with support.

 

Support is available  M-F 6 AM to 6 PM PT and Saturday 6 AM to 3 PM PT for Plus, Essentials, Simple Start, and any time, any day Advanced.

I think i figured it out ...

I had to go into the "users" and update my email address there too.  Apparently all of the email addresses need to be updated separately.  I have started receiving emails at my new email address and my profile bubble (at the top right) is now showing my correct (new) email.  Fingers crossed.

Hopefully everything is resolved now. If not, I'll take the suggestion and contact the Support Team.
