Want to be sure that all transactions are properly documented (with an attachment that represents the supporting source document). Was hoping I can pull a transaction detail report (for any date range) and add a column that shows an attachment was tagged to a particular transactions.

Hello codyhbarnes!
Excellent question!
Aside from the Attachments area where you can view all the attachments, we also have the option to view which transactions have attachments and which ones don’t.
Here’s how:
I’ve attached a photo for your reference. If you need more help, please let me know.

I do not have a transactions tab????
Thanks for joining this thread, @dlash.
Due to recent QuickBooks Online updates, we no longer have the Transactions tab. If you wish to confirm the transactions have attachments, here are the updated steps.
For the customer transactions:
For the vendor transactions:
That should keep you going today, @dlash.

Is there a way to do this in Quickbooks Pro (desktop version)?
Thanks!
Greetings, @nwang1997!
I've already answered the same question you've posted.
If you haven't checked it yet, here's the link of your post and my answer as well: https://quickbooks.intuit.com/community/Reports-and-accounting/How-do-I-view-a-list-of-transactions-...
Let me know if you have any other questions about reports in QuickBooks Desktop. Just leave it in the comment section below. I'll be always around to lend you a helping hand.
What about the reverse: I would like to view only attachments that were downloaded but not yet attached to a transaction.
I want to officially welcome you to QuickBooks Community, ycsMN.
Allow me to join this conversation to help you view the downloaded attachments.
The Attachments list screen shows all the documents you've uploaded to QuickBooks Online. You'll know that the attachment hasn't been linked to a transaction yet if it has no number under the LINKS column. Let me show you how:
Check out the screenshot below for your visual point of reference.
Please take a look at this article for more insights: Attachments in QuickBooks Online.
That should help you view the attachments that were not linked yet to a transaction. Let me know how that works for you. I'm to here provide you additional assistance if you need anything else. Have a good one.
IS it possible to arrange these into any order so all the unlinked attachments are together?
Hello, @TamaraJ.
Thanks for joining this thread. Allow me to steps in and provide some information about the attachment list in QuickBooks Online (QBO).
Adding an attachment to customer or vendor profiles and their transactions helps organized the records. Currently, there isn't an option to sort or arrange the transaction list in QBO.
For additional reference, you can check this article to learn more about the attachments in QuickBooks Online.
Don't hesitate to leave a comment below if you have other questions about the list attachment. I'll be around to help.
Hi JonpriL,
I have the same question as nwang1997 (for QB Premier NonProfit 2016... if that makes a difference). I would love to check out your answer, however when I click your link, I run up against the following error message:
Click your browser's Back button to continue.
Could you please advise?
Hello, @mickeygg.
Thank you for joining us here in the Community. I've looked through all the options in QuickBooks Desktop to see If I could generate a report with information on the attachments. At this time, this particular report is a product limitation. You can go to the document center to view the accessories, but you'll need to go through each and individual one to make sure it's linked to a transaction. I will make sure to put in a product suggestion for this to be considered in a future update.
In the meantime, I have sent a screenshot to assist with getting to the doc center.
If you have any further questions or concerns please let me know, I'm here to help anytime. I hope you have a great rest of your day!
We are on QB Enterprise and the ability to see which transactions (invoices, sales, deposits) are missing attachments (without opening every single one) would be VERY helpful. Just adding my voice. Thx.
I agree. This would be VERY helpful. We recently started using Quickbooks for document storage of all the accounts payable records and need this function to ensure each item has an attachment.
I would like the ability to see a list of transactions and which transaction have an attachment. We are scanning and attaching all receipts and I want to be sure none were overlooked. The "Transaction List By Vendor" would be perfect if I could customize the report and add "attachment" as an option to display. It could simply display the # of attachments, 0, 1, 2 etc.
From reading the above thread it appears this is possible in Quickbooks Online, but not the desktop version. I would appreciate this update! Thank You. Alan
Hi there, Alan.
As you may have been informed in the previous response, a similar type of report is not available in QucickBooks Desktop. Although, you can still open the Document Center and go to the Attached To column to see what transactions have attachments to them.
You can send your feedback and feature request about this directly inside QuickBooks. Here's how:
Let me share this article about the Document Center for more details about this feature: FAQs And Common Issues For QuickBooks Document Center.

Hi
Is it possible to print to excel this transaction list which shows which transaction has attachment and which doesn't ?
Thank you
Hi there, Judith19. Thanks for reaching out to the Community about this.
I'd be more than happy to help with exporting your transaction lists as XLS files. You can obtain a copy of each of them by using the Export to Excel option.
Here's how:
Once you've exported copies of both lists, you can open each of them in Excel.
I've included a couple detailed resources about working with your sales list and exporting reports as Excel files that may come in handy moving forward:
I'll be here to help if there's any questions. Have an awesome weekend!
I'm locked from viewing this once I log on. How do I view it?
You will need to have an access to this page so you can view it, jaypaulth.
You can ask your Master Admin or Company Admin to add you as a Standard user.
I've added these references and you can share it with your Master Admin or Company Admin on how to manage users:
There you have it. Feel free to leave a Reply if you need help. Keep safe!
This appears to be the question I needed to read the answer to. The link takes you into qb and you have to log in. My access was denied so I guess I get to keep searching. It's no wonder I cannot stand this software.
Hi llcc!
Thanks for joining this post. Allow me to assist you with attachments in QuickBooks Desktop.
The link in the previous reply is from the old QuickBooks Community platform. We're unable to access it which is why you encountered such an error.
Currently, QuickBooks Desktop doesn't have a report that shows transactions with or without attachments. You'll want to manually open and check each transaction. If the Attach File button has a number, it means it has an attachment on it.
Also, I understand that you need to review the attachments in QuickBooks Desktop. While there's no report about this, you'll want to send feedback to our developers and let them know that you need one. Go to the Help menu, select Send Feedback Online, then Product Suggestion.
Lastly, note that you can always go to the Company menu, select Documents, and then Doc Center. From there, you'll see all your attachments.
I added this link that answers the common questions about Doc Center: QuickBooks Document Center: FAQs and common issues.
Post again here if you need more help with this. Wishing you all the best!
