How do I add a trip catagory so I do not have to type it in with every trip I swipe

Hello @rhvogel6,

As of the moment, there isn't an integrated way to add a new category of your trips for mileage tracking.

But don't worry, you can simply categorize your trips as business or personal once you swipe it on your mobile device. To do so, follow the following shortcuts below:

• Swipe LEFT for Business category
• Swipe RIGHT for Personal category

Why can't I add a trip catagory to the ones already in there since none of them apply to most of my trips so I have to manually type in the trip purpose for each time I swipe left

The feature to add trip categories in QuickBooks Self-Employed is still unavailable. You can only set a trip to either Business or Personal. 

However, you’ll need to add a trip purpose to save the trip that you’ve tracked or added. You can describe your trip on this box. It'll also take note of the most frequent purposes that you've entered.
