How do I add fixed assets--vehicles, computers, cleaning equipment?

It's nice to see you here!


Before we can add them, we have to create first an asset account in QuickBooks Online. This where we track the current value and depreciation of your assets. You can follow these steps:

  1. Go to the Accounting tab and select Chart of Accounts.
  2. Click on New. From the Account Type dropdown, select Fixed Assets or Other Assets.
  3. Select the option that closely describes the asset on the Detail Type dropdown.
  4. Enter a name and select the Track depreciation of this asset checkbox. Then, enter the current value of your asset in the Original cost field and the as of date. 
  5. When you're done, select Save and Close.
