How do i allow PayPal as an online payment option in my invoices?

Good day, kmackey50.

It's very easy and convenient to get paid online using QuickBooks Payments.

The PayPal Beta integration has been discontinued already. That means your clients can only process payments using cards or bank transfer.

I've added some links to learn more about QuickBooks Self-Employed invoicing:

I'll be here if you have more questions. Wishing you all the best!

Hi @kmackey50.

A couple of years ago, Intuit Merchant Services beta-tested accepting PayPal payments. Few customers were offered to test this functionality back then. As a result, PayPal isn't a payment option for receiving payments on emails you send out to your customers.

In case you wanted to sync your PayPal transactions to QuickBooks Self-Employed, here's how:

  1. Go to the Settings ⚙ icon, and then select Bank accounts.
  2. Search for PayPal. If you've already connected an account before, select Connect another.
  3. Choose it from the suggestion, then hit Continue to PayPal. It will route you to their website.
  4. Enter the sign-in info.
  5. Once done, select Connect securely.

There, you'll be able to categorize them in QBSE.

Please let me know if you have more questions. I'll reply as fast as I can. Take care!

What a blunder... why isn't PayPal available as an option for my clients? :(

We appreciate you for joining in on the thread, rielangdon.

For new QuickBooks Self-Employed users, PayPal payment method is no longer available when accepting payments through QuickBooks Payments. Your customers can pay the invoices using a credit card, debit card, or ACH bank transfer.

Here's a link to turn on the online payment option in QuickBooks Self-Employed: Create invoices in QuickBooks Self-Employed.

If your customer wants to pay via PayPal, you can do it outside the program. Once you receive the payment, you can manually mark the invoice as Paid in QuickBooks Self-Employed.

  1. Select Invoices on the left menu of QBSE.
  2. Look for the invoice you want to update.
  3. Click Mark as paid.

We'll be right here if you have additional queries regarding the payment process in QBSE.

When will they be added the option to accept PayPal payments back to Quickbooks Online for those who wish to use it as a payment option?

How do i allow PayPal as an online payment option in my invoices?

Hello there, Yodabert.

I can see the benefits to have an option to accept PayPal payments in Quickbooks Online.

For now, there's no specific time frame when accepting the Paypal payments will be ready. Still, QuickBooks offers to pay using cards or bank transfers.

Once your customer pays using Paypal, you can log in to your QBO account and manually make a payment by utilizing the Receive Payment feature. Here's how:

  1. Go to the +New button.
  2. Select Receive Payment.
  3. From the Customer drop-down arrow, select the name of the customer.
  4. From the Payment method drop-down menu, select the payment method. Then, enter all the necessary information.
  5. Then, click Save and close.

For additional details, you can check this article: Record invoice payments in QuickBooks Online.

Post again if you have other concerns. I'll be here to help. Otherwise, you can enjoy your day.

@Yodabert

You may need a connector to do so.

The thing is, it's really not convenient. Quickbooks payments doesn't work most of the time when people are trying to pay with their debit cards.
The exact same card that doesn't work through Quickbooks payments, works perfectly well through Stripe. This is giving us an enormous headache.

If you're not going to allow native integrations with Stripe or Paypal, you need to deliver a service that works every time. Right now, you're only providing us with problems, not solutions.

@Fede_at_Lime

They already have QB Payment for their own payment processor. I am not sure they will build a native connector to let you accept PayPal/Stripe payment on QBO invoice for this time. Consider having a 3rd party connector to release invoice from QBO with the PayPal/Stripe as the payment options.

How do i allow PayPal as an online payment option in my invoices?

Hey, thanks for your response.

The thing is that I've integrated QBO with my custom-made database (through the API) for it to create and upload to QBO all my invoices automatically. I invested a ton of time and quite a bit of money so I can automate the invoicing workflow, and it works great - except that now payments aren't going through.

So, I'm not sure I can consider another app to send the invoices... unless it doesn't get in the way of my integration.

What app would that be and how would it work?
Thanks!

Check our profile name and send your business email address in a private message to us. We will introduce you directly to the app developer. They offer a 30 days trial to process up to 20 transactions with many integrated payment processors in a single dashboard.

How do i allow PayPal as an online payment option in my invoices?

Hi! Is paying via PayPal still not an option through Quickbooks? 99% of my customer want to pay via PayPal because our registration system is done via PayPal. Can Quickbooks please rethink this integration?

Thanks,

Sara

Hello there, @scdiscgolfer.

I understand how beneficial for you to have an option to process payment via PayPal within QuickBooks Online. First, I'd like to confirm what QuickBooks product you're using? Please let me know so I can walk you through properly.

Since your customer mostly wants to do it via PayPal, I have another way that you may consider to make this thing happen.

The option to pay via PayPal for customers is still not available yet both QBSE and QBO. While paying through the PayPal form is currently unavailable, you can use a third-party tool app that helps you get payment from the customer using PayPal. Here's how you can search for an app:

  1. Sign in to your QuickBooks Online account.
  2. Go to Apps on the left panel. Or, go to the link: QuickBooks App Store.
  3. Type a keyword or click the Browse category drop-down menu.
  4. Click the app to see the key benefits.
  5. Hit the Get app now, and follow the instructions to connect.

If you found one, you can contact the app's support to learn more about the process.

I'll be adding these articles in case you want to process payments with QuickBooks Payments in the future: Learn how to take customer payments from any QuickBooks product.

Also, to manage your sales transactions, you can read through these articles:

Still, you can send this feedback to our Product Team so they can take note your insights. Go to Settings and select Feedback.

Know that I'm always here if you have any other concerns about recording transactions and information from your customers. I'll be here to assist you 24/7. Take care and stay safe, Sara.

You will need a 3rd party connector to release invoices on QBO US version to accept PayPal and other processors.
