How do I attach a receipt in snap receipt from quickbooks app to a transaction in quickbooks online

I am trying to add a receipt to a transaction needing reviewed. Why is there not just an Add Receipt as well as Add Attachment? I don't want to download the receipt to my computer. I added it via Snap Receipt via the QB app. Why can't I just add it simply?

Let me provide some insights about attaching receipts to your transactions in QuickBooks Online.

 

When capturing receipts using the Receipt snap feature on the mobile app, the snap made will allow you to add or match your transactions automatically in the system. Know that Adding receipts and Adding attachments work differently. 

 

If you want to have the same receipt to be attached when accessing your entries on the browser, you'll need to open the transaction and select Add Attachment at the bottom. 

 

Moreover, the receipt that you've captured from the mobile can't be added as an attachment directly, you'll need to save it on your PC and attach it afterward.

Interesting.  I was trying to attach the snapped receipts.  Instead I open the snapped receipt, take a snippet and then attach the screen shot.  Then delete the snapped receipt.  Snapped receipt is a problem.  it kept sending me in circles, needless field entries of the receipt, then would not attach to transaction.

For now, let’s clear the app data of your application to refresh it and eliminate common errors that may cause the issue. Here are the steps:

 

  1. In your QuickBooks Online Mobile App, select the Gear icon. 
  2. Choose the Refresh Data menu.
  3. Tap Yes.

 

Once done, try attaching the snapped receipts again. If it still doesn't work, consider uninstalling and reinstalling the app.
