How do I close the day? Where are the sales/invoice/payment reports?

Hello, glassie-ladies. I can think of two possible scenarios based on your concern. I'll elaborate on each of them in detail below.

If you want to close your day by pulling up sales/invoice/payment reports, let's visit the Standard tab in the Reports menu to see the complete list. Here's how:

  1. Go to Reports and select the Standard tab.
  2. Scroll down to the Who owes you and Sales and customers sections.
  3. Select the sales/invoice/payment report you want to open it.
  4. Do the customization if necessary.

On the other hand, when you say close the day, are you referring to your books? If so, you'll be locking your accounting data to prevent unwanted changes before filing your taxes. To guide you in completing this task, please see this article: Close your books in QuickBooks Online.

Additionally, you may want to check out this article to further guide you and your accountant on what you need to do in QuickBooks Online (QBO) to close out the previous year and prepare for the new one: Year-end guide for QuickBooks Online.

Please let me know if there's anything else we can do to assist you in managing your sales and income transactions in QBO. You can drop a comment below, and we'll gladly help.

@glassie-ladies

I'm not sure if this is what you're referring to but QB Online does not operate like a point-of-sale system.  There is no end-of-day close report.
