How do I correct my A/R report?

My Accounts Receivable on the Balance Sheet is not equal to my A/R Summary Report.  There has been the same amount of discrepancy for many years.  Is there a way to adjust the A/R report to match the Balance Sheet A/R account?  Thanks.

How do I correct my A/R report?

Hi JanetV. Thanks for reaching out to the community. Sometimes if either the balance sheet or the A/R report are not on the same accounting type. To check, open them both and ensure both are set to the Accrual radial button. Let me know if this helps. Have a great day.

How do I correct my A/R report?

Thanks for your reply.  I'm using QB Online.  The Balance Sheet is accrual basis. The A/R report doesn't appear to offer a choice of accounting type.  I've been doing some deep digging.  Any help is appreciated.

How do I correct my A/R report?

Hi JanetV. Thanks for replying.  You can also try to change the aging method. Here's how:

  1. Open the A/R Aging report.
  2. Select Customize.
  3. Select Aging.
  4. Under Aging Method, choose Report Date.
  5. Select Run report.

After you're done the balances should match. Here's an article as well on how to get your aging reports to match. Let me know if you need anything Have a great day.

How do I correct my A/R report?

I find no Accrual radial button on the A/R reports, only on the Balance Sheet

Thank you for posting here in the Community, @Marcy . I'll share insight on your query about the Accrual radial button in Accounts Receivable reports.

The reason why you’re unable to see the option in the Accounts Receivable reports is that these reports display the transactions affecting the A/R account.

Also, accounts receivable aging reports in QBO give you an overview of your customers' outstanding balances, who are falling behind on their payments, how much is still due, and how long they’re past due.

Here's an article you can refer to for more details on how to create and customize accounts receivable aging reports in QuickBooks Online.

Additionally, I’ll share with you this articles to guide you further on how customize and run reports in QBO.

Moreover, check out this link about memorizing your reports to save its current customization settings.

I’m always ready to assist you if you have any other questions or concerns about reports in QBO. Tag me in your reply and I’ll sprint back into action. Have a good one and keep safe.
