You should tweet @ them. Their Tweeter is super responsive and it looks like I’ll be meeting with someone from their team soon to discuss and present real world examples of Modern View massively failing when it comes to responsiveness.

I thought most “modern views” had super responsive interfaces.

I'm not sure how Tweeting them would help make a feature available (making Classic View default) that isn't available. Intuit has stated that making Classic View the default is not an option. Meeting about it or sending them Feedback doesn't ever seen to go anywhere IMHO.

The responsiveness of the Modern View is not in question. Some users (myself included) do not find Modern View useful and would prefer to use the Classic View. If other users find Modern View useful, that's awesome. The issue is not which view is better but that Intuit is not responsive in what users want (i.e., the ability to make Classic View default). 

My point is enough people need to raise the issue to an executive.

AND Intuit is generally unresponsive, though I'm sure they consider chiming into these threads as such. The canned messages from Intuit-influencers about how grateful they are for feedback - without actually addressing customer issues - are tiresome and a charade.

@brandoncopley , could you please be extremely specific (Tweet kindergartner here) about how to tweet the person you are dealing with?  I go to Twitter, then do ... what...?

My goal from the get-go has been to get this message to the executive board.  Clearly NOTHING has worked so far, and getting the QBO staff to pass the messages to the board has been impossible.  They are robots, well-programmed to sing the praises of procedures that are shiny on the surface and totally useless and a complete waste of time under the shine.  I submitted a request to the executive board on their webpage, and was called by Maria, who said she worked for the President, and turns out her phone number is the standard Customer Service phone, NOT the executive offices.  I suspected that she did not indeed work for any middle or upper manager when she could not understand my complaint was about the Modern View.  Fourteen minutes later, I gave up on her.  Then I got the "are you totally happy with Maria's resolution of your issue?" survey, which dead-ended before even being sent.  

So if you have a live one on Twitter, I'd love to know how to use that connection.  Thanks.

I also am unable to load all of my transactions and it has nothing to do with cache issues and everything to do with the transaction retrieval limit that is imposed on the report feature.

@books11249 seems to get me a response with first names, I may need to look up who I’m talking to on LinkedIn and slowly push it up the chain.

Which is insane, they should have the ability to control all transactions. I can’t enter all my transactions into qbo, and I have to do summaries, but even with summary reports I can’t get the system to show everything all the time!

It really is. I haven't been able to get more than 3 weeks worth of transactions in one report in ages. I have to export the data, text-to-columns the dates and currency, unmerge the cells, and stitch 15 reports together to get the year to date data.

It hit the point where I'm basically running a secondary database to supplement the QBO data.

You can get some of the data more easily through Spreadsheet Sync, but not all of it.

I'll repeat what I said months ago in this thread, these changes were not accountant driven. These were either driven by non-trained accountants (which has always been Intuit's target audience with QuickBooks) or developer driven change for the sake of being able to say they updated something.

The modern view is definitely not an improvement.  I have left feedback but this is clearly a case of developers making changes without considering the user experience.

Does anyone at QB actually listen to users? WE HATE THE MODERN VIEW! It makes our jobs HARDER not easier. Did your developement team ACTUALLY ask users what improvements they needed and/or wanted. You know a fantastic feature you could develop that USERS actually want? The ability to use the payment void function to void a check in the CURRENT period, not the original issue date instead of having to manually enter a journal entry to accomplish what most accounting systems are already programmed to do. 

Your new view in all screens is horrific and requires us to click more to do the SAME activities we were doing before and does nothing to improve the experience. The fact that YOU ARE NOT listening to users telling you this is NOT AN IMPROVEMENT by taking away what is actually functional and pushing forward on these changes full steam ahead is disappointing. You are taking a versatile, functional product and messing with it, for what, to say you made "improvements and a fresh exciting look". How about ACTUALLY IMPROVING something. And don't tell me to use the feedback button, I've been using the feedback button pretty much EVERY SINGLE TIME, you roll out a new screen, take away functionality and/or I get annoyed with the stupid changes (which is often) and yet, these interface changes that make things more difficult continue to be rolled out. It makes me cringe every time I open to app to see what fresh hell you've unleased on us with these STUPID AND NOT FUNCTIONAL "improvements".

The notice today that classic view will not be available after Dec 14th is causing us concern. WHICH REPORTS ARE WE GOING TO HAVE TO SPEND 3 TIMES AS LONG TRYING TO SET UP? WHICH REPORTS ARE WE GOING TO HAVE TO EXPORT TO EVEN BE ABLE TO READ? Well - that is a lie. Now in Reports there is a message stating "After December 14, 2023, some reports will only be available in the modern view. Find out more." When you click on the link to find out more it brings you to a page about how to customize reports - it doesn't list which reports will no longer be in Classic view.

NO ONE wants this. I am considering giving up on QB - as its getting less and less useful and you don't listen to your users.

urgh! - Ive only just got started with QB and have just completed my first year's accounts onto it. Now Im thinking it could all be a waste of time and effort as so many people report the failure of the company to listen to users!

One thing I'm surprised that nobody has mentioned but is a MAJOR reason I don't want modern view: I run with a slightly larger screen due to minor vision issues, but with modern view at my default screen size I don't get ANY lines of data displayed on my screen because all the report heading stuff is fixed on the page and only the detail lines are scrollable. If I reduce my font, I can get a couple of scrollable lines of data on the screen. In classic view, the entire page scrolled and I can large sections of the report on screen.

If QB updated the view to make it a more convenient experience while using it and it ACTUALLY WAS more convenient then we would not be requesting an option to disable the feature. We are requesting the option to disable because the update is a freaking NIGHTMARE!!

Oh! i came here just to see if anyone noticed that they are discontinuing classic view in December!  Does no one in QB care ? does anyone actually like modern view? where are these people?

It is very obvious they do not. I am sure they are gonna start out sourcing the online tech to chat GPT soon I am sure. We are just shouting into the void.
