How do I disable Modern View and stay in Classic View?

I didn't notice that yet, very concerning.  The modern view has bugs and not very well thought out.

Intuit is crashing. Let's take a look.

Mint is getting shutt down.
Mailchimp is continually raising prices without adding value.
QuickBooks is discontinuing it's desktop software.

The writing is on the wall, Intuit is hurting. Anything tied to Intuit may not exist in just a few years.

Oh! I can answer this one! No, Intuit doesn’t care what its users think. Nobody likes modern view, it’s buggy and inconvenient, but for some reason Intuit doesn’t care about the damage being done to its flagship product and reputation. Perplexing.

"We're shouting into the void".

So business as usual at Intuit.

Intuit only cares about its shareholders and that is only because they are legally obligated to do so.

This is in-line with what I'm experiencing with other software that is software as a service/subscription modeled. It's all going backwards in terms of user interface and it comes across like changes that have to be made so people who are subscribed can feel like they're getting their money's worth because look at all the updates that do nothing! Everything now takes 3x as long to get done because we're back in the days of having to build out everything we need through side-loaded mods that break with every update.

That's because they do not listen to their customers.

Where do you see that? Do you mean December as in this month or twelve months from now?

Either way, transitioning to a different accounting platform is now at the top of my list.

I am glad that I am not the only one and I am troubled that the QBO technical team is not listening to it's customers.  Sounds like I need to also consider looking for alternatives.

Its evident that the majority of Quickbook users would like to joyfully ditch modern view and keep the classic. Its also evident that Quickbooks do not care one jot what users want.

I wonder if in their advertising bumf Quickbooks direct potential new clients to this forum to see how happy current users are. I think not.

I have already persuaded two of my clients to ditch Quickbooks, if I could get the rest to move I would be sending Sanda a very special thank you card

I've given feedback multiple times. It does not matter. The users - who pay for the product - have no say in the actual product. I have looked at the Modern View and like absolutely nothing about it. Invoices are awful. Reports are harder to read. New and "improved" is not the case here.

Intuit - PLEASE LISTEN to those whoe USE THIS THE MOST!!!!!  Not only are you making the new enhancement look permanent - which we HATE, you are making the change as of December 15th - right before our busiest time of the year!!!!

Seriously!!!!! We barely have time to spend with our families come January and you are going to make our job more difficult by giving us something to "figure out" on something we don't want changed!!!!

Can't agree enough, Intuit has replaced business minded people with pure programmers, not a smart.

They seem to be clueless on how much they are hurting their brand.

I for one will not be recommending QBO going forward, and I've been a strong advocate amongst my peers for the past 5 years.

Intuit just brought in their nepotistic CTO, a family member that has been with the company since day one, that's only technical prowess appears to be with MSDOS. They have put the clowns in charge, and are wondering why their product is becoming a circus that people are fleeing from. I no longer recommend QBO, which sucks because I like their API's and backend infrastructure, but even those are weak at best.

Yes, it is terrible that they are not listening to us! Is there another product that we can recommend?

Thanks,

Oh, if there is a viable option out there, I too would have my clients switch in a heartbeat! I will have to dust off my excel skills and start doing a lot of work the old way!

Just came here to add that I dont want modern view. It's awful to look at and slow. I may look at other solutions this next year, because Intuit doesn't seem to listen to customers.

I just had the same thing happen.  You know your development team is top notch when the feedback but freezes the program and forces you to close out.  QBO originally was one of the worst possibly programs on the market, saved only by the fact that it is too common to avoid.  It is now a horrendous mess of time wasting nonsense that makes our jobs harder.  Hats off to Intuit for constantly striving to find new and improved ways of ruining this program.  At the very least, all "improvements" should be optional.  I can't remember the last time Intuit added a quality, useful improvement.  It seems more and more "improvements" are designed to force us to start checking out the competition.

The "modern" view is garbage.

Planning to attend the next QuickBooks Connect event with large signs that say "MODERN VIEW SUCKS" to distribute to hundreds of other attendees.

Maybe someone will pay attention then?

Everybody is screaming about how much they hate modern view (nobody at Intuit listens). So let me ask this: can anyone tell us what the advantages are? Please share!

Couldn't agree more.  It's a total middle finger to all accounting personnel. QuickBooks team:  Let's make major changes to your software and all the reports you need for end of year and roll them out two weeks before you need them. And do this without advanced warning or guidance, leaving you on your own at a time you already work seven 12 hour days!

Lets start a new thread on better programs available , that work the way financial and accounting users want! I for one will not put up with this bull another year!

Please re-evaluate your description, "view for a better and more convenient experience"  The new view is harder and way less convenient than the previous "experience".  Another example of QBO telling the customer they don't know what they like.  Look at the feedback in this post, you guys are not listening to your customers. Accountant's who recommend you software and use it daily with many other small businesses.  You are fixing items that are not broke!

What's broke:

1) Duplicate Transactions - I've never seen a software program produce more duplicate transactions than QBO

2) Rules - Oh Holy Nightmare, stop requesting rules.  If someone wants to make a rule let them do it on their own. Intuit trying to make things convenient only causes problems. Advise for all clients, turn off rules and add them sparingly.  Every transaction from Amazon is not office supplies.

3) When accepting transactions in Bank Fees, and after you assign that first transaction, for some reason QBO thinks every transaction after the first will have the same payee and category.  CRAZY, QBO is not an AI tool.... stop guessing!

4) 100's of different user interfaces. I have access to many clients books and each of them seem to have different user interfaces.  For an Accountant, I have to find where links are hidden before I can ever help.

5)  Intuit does not listen, no matter how many times we leave feedback.  It falls on deaf ears, Intuit changes items like reports and invoices instead of the functional areas where the system is broken!

LOL. They will be too busy paying Ryan Reynolds to be a keynote speaker to really care about the end user experience. Because, obviously, good ol' double R is a QBO expert, and it is valuable to have his input as a keynote.

Hi,

I have to agree.  Unfortunately this is the QBO/Intuit way: Let's break something that works.  You have to wonder why they're sabotaging themselves.  I could see them offering it in addition to the Classic View.

I try to send feedback messages everyday not drop the the Classic View.

There is nothing "improved" about the new view. It is clunky and cluttered. Reports have too much duplication that I cannot figure out how to remove. The blue banner on invoices is distracting at best and utterly useless. All we want is the option to use the view we want. Why is that so difficult?

Have you had any progress with finding a new program? We are also searching for different options due to the new QBO changes.
