How do I make an Item Non-Taxable?

Thank you for reaching out Community, @msdecamillis. I can help you change taxable items into non-taxable items.

To change taxable items into non-taxable items is easy. You can follow the steps below:

  1. Go to the Sales menu and select Product and Services
  2. Double tap on the taxable items you want to change to non-taxable, then click on Edit sales tax.
  3. From there, click on "Still don't see what you're looking for?" then scroll down a bit and select Nontaxable.
  4. Then, select Done

I've also added a screenshot for visual reference.

How do I make an Item Non-Taxable?

Thank you very much for the guidance @GebelAlainaM

This was a simple update after navigating an unusual series of steps. Why on earth is "non taxable" not listed as a direct option for the product/item? In order to update you have to go into taxable, which is not intuitive at all, then you have to figure out that what you would not be looking for there in the first place is listed in yet another screen. At least QB's could have done was list non-taxable at the top of taxable categories.

What is more concerning is that I was online chatting for more than 1.25 hours with someone who could not understand nor answer a question as simple as this regardless of how many times I explained. While you were able to answer so quick.

QB's has made such a simple thing complex and not intuitive.

I thank you for responding quickly.

Michael
