How do I populate the date column in the invoice?

When I am editing an invoice, there doesn't appear to be an area to insert a date for each line item, but on the preview page, there is a date column. How do I input this information?

How do I populate the date column in the invoice?

Hi jeanniec288,

Welcome to the QuickBooks Community, and thank you for getting help about your invoice.

At the moment, we're unable to add service dates on invoice lines in QB Self-Employed. This option is only available in QB Online.

If you need further assistance, feel free to reach out to QuickBooks Online support.

How do I populate the date column in the invoice?

Can you change the column header so it does not say "date," since you cannot populate this column?

How do I populate the date column in the invoice?

Thanks for joining us here, JGT137. I can see that you want to personalize some columns in QBSE.

At this time, there is no option to rename the Date column or any other columns in QuickBooks Self-Employed. The information shown in the Date column comes from the invoice dates entered under Invoice Details.

I understand how allowing users to customize or rename columns could be helpful in QBSE. I would suggest sending feedback to our product development team requesting this feature.

Here's how:

  1. Go back to the Invoices menu and click Create invoice.
  2. Click Feedback in the upper-right-hand corner.
  3. Type in your suggestion about being able to rename columns.
  4. Click Next to submit your feedback.

This will send your feedback directly to our product engineers for consideration.

Additionally, let me share these articles for additional guidance when recording invoices and using QBSE for your business:
