How do I print out a list of "Customer Display Names"?

Hello there, @tmwCM.

You can run the Customer Contact List report. This will show the display names of your customers. From there, click the Print and Excel icon. Let me show you how:

  1. Click Reports on the left menu.
  2. On the search bar, type Customer Contact List.
  3. Click Customize on the right-hand corner and filter the necessary details.
  4. Tap Run report.
  5. Click the Export and Print icon on the reports page.

You can also export and print the display names of your customers, by going to the Sales menu.

  1. Go to the Sales menu.
  2. Select the Customers tab.
  3. Click the Export and Print icon.

For more details, you can check this article: Export your reports to Excel from QuickBooks Online.

Once exported, made some changes to the Excel file. In case, you want to import it back to your QBO account. Here’s an article you can read that can guide you through the process: Import customer or vendor contacts from Outlook, Excel, or Gmail.

I'll be adding this awesome resource on how to customize your reports in QBO. This way, you can get the personalized info you need the most for your business: Customize reports in QuickBooks Online.

Also, you're able to save the current customization of your reports above by memorizing them. This way, you can access them easily for future use. Here's a handy article for the details how: How to memorize reports in QBO.

Please feel free to leave a comment below if you're referring to something else or if you have any other questions. Have a good one!

How do I print out a list of "Customer Display Names"?

Thank you Joesem.

Now when I look at the columns in your answer I see "Customer" and "Full Name" - there are other reports where I see "Client."

Which of these columns / designations corresponds to the customer unique "Display Name"?

How do I print out a list of "Customer Display Names"?

Thanks for getting back to us here, @tmwCM.

I have some information about the Customer Contact List report. If you're using "Clint" as your customer label, you can pull up the same report but this time use client instead of a customer.

Here's how it looks like:

The customer or client column will show the display name of the customer's profile. You can check out the step-by-step instruction on how to export report at this guide: Export your reports to Excel from QuickBooks Online.

Additionally, here's a link that covers all the tasks you can do when using the reports feature. It has topics with articles that suit your concern. Feel free to browse.

Let me know if you still have questions or concerns with customer reports. I'm always here to assist you further. Stay safe and have a lovely day ahead.

How do I print out a list of "Customer Display Names"?

Hi - I'm looking for a way I can get a report of JUST the client display name - not including the parent company when there is one. When in the customer record itself the display name doesn't include the parent name. That's how I need it to be able to sync QBO data with our CRM system. Unfortunately when I try to export any view or report that should have the display name, I either get blanks for the company name (even though display name field is populated when you try to edit the customer) - as their company name is blank, or I get the customer column which includes the parent company name in the same cell as the display name.

I just need only the display name for all of our customers as that's the field I need to use in order to match up with our CRM system.

Any way to do that? I've exhausted my efforts to do so and this is now the 2nd company I've worked for that's needed it and I can't seem to make it happen without manipulating data - which isn't practical for constantly syncing up with another data source.

Thanks!
