How do I pull up invoices older than a year (already paid ones in 2019), because when I click Sales, then invoices, the date dropdown only goes back to 2020?

Basically, I am taking over bookkeeping using online after having had a CPA do it for years, and I have already imported my historical data (up to Dec 31 2019) from the CPA's Quickbooks Pro Desktop version. i want to see how she did the old invoices so I can mimic that...

Hey there, @cpblakes11.

I'll share with you some steps that will help you view your 2019 list of invoices.

Once you moved your data file from QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) to QuickBooks Online (QBO), your invoices should show in the Sales menu. However, the filter drop-down in the Invoices list will also depend on when you created your QBO account.

If your account was created last year, then the filter will only date back to 2020. Although, you can still go to the All Sales list and use the custom dates to show your 2019 invoices. Here's how:

  1. Go to the Sales menu and select All Sales.
  2. Click the Filter drop-down menu, choose Custom in the Date drop-down list.
  3. Then, enter the date from 01/01/2019 to 12/31/2019.
  4. Select Apply to view your 2019 sales transactions.

Additionally, you can run the Invoice List report in QuickBooks and filter its report period to view your 2019 invoices. Just go to Reports and open the Invoice List report. Then, select Custom in the Date drop-down list and filter the dates. Finally, click Run report.

You can also customize your reports to easily view the details that matter the most to your business.

I've also added this article for additional info on how to view your sales transactions in QBO: View transaction and invoice status at a glance.
