Let's change some settings to show the country in your invoices, bhimes.

Make sure to add the country in the Country field when setting up the customer. Here's how:

  1. Go to the Sales menu and proceed to the Customers tab.
  2. Click the name of the customer.
  3. Click Edit, then go to the Address tab.
  4. Enter the info in the Country field.
  5. Click Save.

If you're referring to the country in your company address, follow these steps on how to add it on the invoice:

  1. Click the Gear icon in the upper-right hand corner and select Custom Form Styles.
  2. Look for the invoice template and click Edit.
  3. If you have not created a template, click New Style, and then select Invoice.
  4. Proceed to the Content tab.
  5. Click the header of the sample invoice in the right-hand corner.
  6. Click Address, then click Show country.
  7. Click Done

I made "sure to add the country in the Country field when setting up the customer," as you said. The problem is the country does not appear ON THE INVOICE. Please advise.

Hello @newuser11,

You have the option to customize the template used on your invoices so you can enable and display the country of your customer's address. Let me show you how.

  1. Go to the +New button.
  2. Under CUSTOMERS, select Invoice.
  3. Select Customize.
  4. Choose Edit current.
  5. On the Content tab, select the upper portion of your invoice template.
  6. Below the address section, select Show country.
  7. Click Save template

Let's try it again: How do I show the CUSTOMER'S country line on customer invoices? I already know how to show MY country; I'm not asking that.

I got you, @newuser11.

I have some information about adding the customer's country line in the invoice. For it to show, you'll need to have the multi-currency feature turn-on. After that, enable the option to Show country from the invoice template settings. You can follow the above steps provided by my colleague @JenoP

Once set up, here's how it looks like on the invoice.

Many, many thanks for this. I've been hesitant to change to multi-currency because that can't be changed back and QB says the change will delete "some options," but does not specify which options exactly.  Can you shed any light on what I'd be missing by changing to multi-currency?

Allow me to share some insights about the Multicurrency option, newuser11.

When you turn on the feature, you’ll be able to perform the following processes in QBO.

  • Add, edit, and delete currencies.
  • Assign currencies to your customers, vendors, and accounts in the chart of accounts.
  • Use exchange rates from IHS Markit, or enter and use your own rates for transactions.
  • Your chart of accounts shows account balances in their assigned currency, except for income and expense accounts which are always in your home currency.
  • The bank and credit card registries show the exchange rates used to convert each foreign currency transaction.
  • QuickBooks uses your home currency for financial reports. They include exchange gains or losses based on rate changes.

Please know your Home currency is set and cannot be changed after activating the feature.

Here’s an article that provides an overview of the effects on the accounts and balances of your company. It includes some links on how to accomplish other multi-currency tasks: About Multicurrency.
