Hi there, @ron15.
Thank you for posting here in the Community. I'm here to help share information about vendor address in QuickBooks Online (QBO).
Once you've entered a vendor or customer name, it automatically fills in the address in QBO. The address appears on the form depends on the set-up under the vendor's/customer's profile.
To correct address and zip code, you may need to check and edit the information under the vendor's profile.
Here's how:
Let me know if you have any other concerns about the vendor address auto-filling the information in QBO, I'm always here to help. Wishing you the best!
HOW TO STOP THE AUTO FILL THOUGH??? PLEASE. this feature is obnoxious
Hey there, @dave_the accountant. Thanks for joining the thread.
I'm here to clarify how auto-fill works in QuickBooks Online. QuickBooks will automatically fill in the details that you've entered in a customer/vendor's profile. If you don't want it to auto-fill, you can remove the information from the vendor's profile. The ability to turn off auto-fill on forms isn't available at this time, but I'll forward your feedback to our Product Development for further review.
For the latest updates, check out our blog. We post all things new and updated there, and that'll be your one-stop-shop for keeping informed on the latest in QuickBooks Online.
Please know I'm always available here to lend a helping hand. Wishing you and your business continued success in all that you do.
This must be corrected! It is creating so many problems and extra work. QBO should allow you to TURN OFF this function.
Why would you want to have to type in the info every time? Your customer zip codes are not changing very often. If one of my customers have a change of address or zip, then I just go to their details and change it, but their zip shouldnt be changing all that much.
Agreed that autofill is handy so customer data can easily be entered, but I'm unable to see the autofill selections as they're covered up by autofill preferences in my web browser. It's occurring to me that it may be a web browser setting (in my case Safari) rather than QBO setting causing the interference. Hope this helps others.
