How do I turn a existing Customer into a Job?

This explanation needs more detail, here you go:

In Quickbooks Desktop only:

-Open Customer:Job list

-Re-sort list by right-clicking on the list and selecting Re-sort List from the pop-up menu

-Click on the bullet of the client you want to become a job and slide it slightly to the right. BOOM - It magically becomes a job.

-Hold the bullet of the new job and drag it under the chosen parent customer.

How idiodic. This program is made like a video game. Am I supposed to get all excited that I discovered how to do this??? This functionality should be clearly stated in one of the menus. Just stupid beyond comprehension. If you know of a better accounting software please let me know.

How do I turn a existing Customer into a Job?

This is amazing!  Thanks for this tutorial.  We just switched to Enterprise and a Projects/Jobs based system, so I am having to convert all our old clients to a main customer with their jobs listed hierarchically underneat.  This is GREAT!

How do I turn a existing Customer into a Job?

Hi there. I got steps that help you add a job to a customer in QuickBooks Desktop.

Here’s how.

  1. Go to the Customers tab.
  2.  Select the Customer Center on the drop- down.
  3. Right-click on your customer's name, then select Add Job.
  4. Enter the necessary information, then click OK once done.

See the screenshot below for your reference.

To add up, here are some links that you can visit about entering multiple jobs and pulling up reports that contain its details in QuickBooks Desktop for reference:

If there's anything else that I can assist you with, let me know. I'd be happy to help. Have a lovely day!
