How do you remove a pending receipt that was forwarded and has been in 'Receipt Scan' for several days? All it shows is 'Gathering receipt details..'.

Thanks for dropping by here in the Community, @thestanyardagen. I'll share some information on what to do with your pending receipts in QuickBooks Self-Employed (QBSE).

 

You'll need to wait for the pending receipts to be downloaded in your QBSE. These downloaded transactions are double-checked by the system. If the same transaction comes in from your bank, it'll match with the forwarded receipts. QuickBooks will also try to match them to transactions you've manually entered.

 

If it can't find a match, QuickBooks creates a new transaction from the forwarded receipt. Once  the transactions is in QuickBooks Self-employed, you'll then want to categorize it. To begin, here's how:

  1. Go to the Transactions menu.
  2. Look for the receipt you forwarded.
  3. Review the details.
  4. Follow the steps to categorize the transaction.

Thanks for this info! How many days does it take for a receipt to generate its own transaction if it can't match it? I have one pending for several days and still says pending. I was hoping this was a fast solution for adding receipts.

Hi @-thestanyardagen, I'll share details about your receipts.

 

When a forwarded receipt shows as pending, the same status will take approximately 24 hours. If the system is unable to find an existing record to match, pending receipts will display a message saying Needs Action to avoid creating duplicate transactions.
