I appreciate you sharing your query here with us, cosmiccavern. Let me provide information to help you manage business data using a QuickBooks Online account.
QuickBooks Online (QBO) is a cloud-based financial management software that can help you efficiently manage your business or personal finances. With QuickBooks, you can easily keep track of your day-to-day spending and organize your expenses, payments, and other transactions. It offers convenient features that make financial management a breeze.
That said, it is possible to have multiple companies under the same QuickBooks Online account. While each company file requires its own paid subscription, you can access all of them with the same sign-in credentials. This feature allows you to switch between companies with ease and manage everything more efficiently. When logging in to your account, QuickBooks will prompt you to choose which company file you want to open. To help you determine which QBO subscriptions you want to add, feel free to browse through this link: QBO Plans & Pricing.
In addition to tracking your business finances, you may use QuickBooks Self-Employed to manage your personal funds and taxes. For an overview of QBSE, please refer to this guide: Overview of QBSE.
You can also refer to this page to compare the features of QBSE and QBO: QuickBooks Products.

I have 1 business online already with QuickBooks.
Can I add a 2nd business to the same Quickbooks account?
One QBO account is for one company file. You need to sign up for a new account. Otherwise, you can purchase old QB Desktop with a non subscription license to manage multiple company files.
Welcome to the Community, Bruno.
I would like to provide you with some further information about managing your business using QuickBooks Online (QBO).
To begin with, I would like to confirm that Chrea is correct in stating that QBO enforces a policy of one account per company file. However, it's possible to manage multiple companies under a single Intuit account, provided that they utilize the same credentials.
It's important to note that each company file requires its own paid subscription, but all files can be accessed using the same login information. This allows you to seamlessly switch between companies, enabling more efficient management of your business operations.
Let me show you how:
You need to visit to the QuickBooks pricing page and select the subscription option you want. This opens one of two experiences:
Once you've made your selection, please follow the on-screen instructions to complete the process.
Afterwards, you can now switch between files in QuickBooks Online to make things more efficient for you.
