How to add a new category? the Add New Category at the top of the Category list doesn't apparently work

Good day, toverholser76.

 

Adding a category in QuickBooks is easy. I've tried creating a new category and it works fine. Now, we can try adding a new one in your QuickBooks by following the steps below:

 

  1. Click Sales from the left menu.
  2. Hover More drop-down arrow.
  3. Select Manage categories.
  4. Click the New button and enter the name of the product category. If this is a sub-category, simply put a check mark inside the Is a sub-category box and select a category.
  5. Once ready, you can now save it by clicking the Save button below.

If the steps above are not working, it could be that your browser is holding too much cache. We can sort this out by performing one of our recommended troubleshooting steps. 

 

To do it, please take a look at the steps below and follow them:

  1. Log in to your QuickBooks account using an incognito window. 
  2. If it works, you can clear the cache on your regular browser. 
  3. Another option is to use supported browsers with QuickBooks.
