How to do summary invoicing in QuickBooks?

Hi delta2!

I understand that summary invoicing is the best way to go, especially when you have many bills for a customer. However, this is currently not an option in QBO.

I suggest finding a third-party app that can do summary invoicing in QuickBooks.

If you have other questions in mind, feel free to go back to his thread. Take care and have a happy weekend!

How to do summary invoicing in QuickBooks?

It's great to see you again, delta2!

Thank you for following up on this because I remember QuickBooks has a feature that displays an invoice summary. I'm about to provide an update until I run into your response.

You can customize your invoice template and add the Account Summary section. This shows your transaction history for a customer's account which includes their Balance Forward, Payments and Credits, New Charges, and Total Amount Due.

  1. Open any invoices.
  2. Click Customize at the bottom and choose Edit current. Meaning we'll edit the template in use (checked).
  3. Select the Content bar and click the Table or the middle section of the previewed invoice on the right.
  4. In the Account summary section, put a checkmark in the Show invoice checkbox.
  5. Click Done. You can preview the invoice after modifying the template.

On the other hand, you can also create customer statements in addition to sending invoices.

Regarding the apps, we're unable to suggest which one to choose because each of them has unique features and each business also has unique needs. However, I think you may not need one.

If you have any more questions, please don't hesitate to reply back. Have a wonderful day!
