How to generate a report of total amount owed, broken down by customer but only invoices for the past two years?

I want to generate a report with a list of customers and the total amount they owe. I want one column showing the total they owe since 1/1/22, and another column showing how much they owe up until that date. If that is not doable, how can I do it as two separate reports, one showing total amount due (broken down by customer) up until 1/1/22 and the other from older invoices up until that date?

Thank you

How to generate a report of total amount owed, broken down by customer but only invoices for the past two years?

Hello there, @David. Allow me to guide on how to pull up the report that shows the total amount owed, broken down by customer, but only invoices for the past two years.

To generate the report, you can use the Open Invoices Report, which will show a list of customers and the total amount they owe. However, customizing the report to display two columns showing the total amount owed since 1/1/22 and the amount owed until that date is not possible within QuickBooks. But you can export the report to Excel and customize it as per your requirements.

Alternatively, you can generate two separate reports in QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT): one report for the total amount due (broken down by customer) up until 1/1/22 and the other for invoices issued before that date. To do this, please follow these steps:

A/R Aging Summary Report:

  1. Go to Reports and select Reports Center
  2. Click on the Customers & Receivables and select the A/R Aging Summary.

This report will show you the total amount due (broken down by customer) until the specified date, which is 1/1/22.

A/R Aging Detail Report:

  1. Click the  Reports menu and select Reports Center
  2. Select the Customers & Receivables and select the A/R Aging Detail.

This report will provide you with the aging of your accounts receivable, broken down by customer and invoice date, for the older invoices until 1/1/22.

By following these steps, you can generate two separate reports to fulfill your specific requirements.
