I have about 300 expenses from Amazon.com that are in an Excel spreadsheet and I need to import them to QuickBooks Online. The spreadsheet contains all the necessary columns (Date, Account Name, Vendor Name, Memo, Amount). However, there doesn't seem to be a way to import this data.
When I go to Company -> Import Data there are only options for Bank Data, Customers, Vendors, Chart of Accounts, Products and Services and Invoices. There is a link that says "Need to bring in sales receipts, invoices, and expenses? Try this app. This takes you to an app called "SaaSANT" but it's impossible to use and only generates cryptic errors whenever I try to import.
Is there any way to do this? I pay $1800/year for QBO and I'd expect to be able to do something simple like import data from Excel.
IMPORTANT: I have reviewed many other articles on the internet and in discussion forums where someone asks this question, and invariably many of the responses give the method for importing bank transactions. I am NOT trying to import bank transactions. I am trying to import expenses.
How did you pay those expenses? Did you receive bills and pay them later with credit card? Or did you pay the expenses with ACH or Wire Transfer?
I acknowledge your point, SGSLLC, about the import of expenses into QuickBooks Online (QBO). Let me add some more information about this functionality.
I am aware of how crucial it is for you to enter your spending into QuickBooks Online (QBO) in a straightforward manner. However, this option isn’t available in the application. Regarding the other application you’re using to import the following transactions, I’d recommend you reach out to their support to guide you with importing your expense data without any cryptic errors.

Hi @SGSLLC
If you are looking for a way to import Expenses into QuickBooks Online from and Excel sheet then you could use a third party app called Axis Online that you can find in the Intuit App Marketplace that makes that process as simple and easy as possible and with the data in the format you described I think we have a solution that would work for you. There is a demo here on how it works.
Zed
Hi Zed, I found this post a few days ago but didn't have time to install the app. Now when I search the app store or click on your link, QBO says it's not found. I saw it on the store! Where did it go? How do I get it now? Thank you!
